This goes on my steam wishlist then.

Playing Rogue Legacy. This is quite good. It can really strawberry float you over at times, but I love the way the permanent ability unlocks work. Keeps you in a loop of 'one more go'.

Yeah Ultimate Weapon is a bit of a pushover in all honest, Ruby and Emerald are where the real challenge is at

haha not sure I can push myself through another 30 levels of grinding

Yeah they aren't easy, you really need to want to beat them! There are various strategies for making the fights more manageable but it's definitely not a light commitment

Honestly I might just play FFVI instead
I'll give them a shot tho

It didn’t do it for me at the start of the game, and ended up never doing do. I whacked it on easy mode to breeze past the annoying battles for the story, which was also rubbish. Changed too much of the original’s and dragged like whoa.

I liked but didn't love FFVII Remake, which as an adoring fan of the original was a real shame. There are a lot of things it does very well, including the soundtrack and (most of) the visuals which are sublime.

Absolutely true. And to give the combat a little props, fighting as Tifa is just excellent. Kinda used to just switch to her and leave Dumb & Dumber out of it.

I thought the combat was really good. The only fight I kind of struggled with was vs Rufus but that was satisfying to overcome.

At the moment I'm mainly focusing on Disgaea 3 but I'll probably get back to Persona 5 The Royal at some point - am enjoying the new additions and the nicer graphics (especially since I played OG P5 on PS3) but the bulk of it being the same has made it drag slightly for me.

Beyond a few quirks I really enjoyed the combat, there was a depth to it that was satisfying even if it didn't quite manage to successfully transfer the feel of the original into a more dynamic setup.

I made a little more progress in Onimusha this evening after work. I offed my doppelgänger, the. explored a little more before stumbling into a fight with a big minotaur looking dude who I also defeated after a couple of tries. I need to investigate the eastern side of the map a little more thoroughly next time.

I picked up Kindoms of Amular Re-Reckoning in Xbox Sale for €23. After her school work my daughter's been playing it on my Series X (then her Series S when I finish my work). I must say it looks pretty decent, she's loving it. It's using Series auto HDR which may help things as the lighting looks particularly nice. The combat looks good and all in all it seems to be a solid enough action RPG.

I'm sorely tempted to pick this up as the PS3 version was pretty nice looking (esp the lighting) so I can imagine the reskin will really pop. But then I remember that the quest structure was dull as dishwater.

I'm playing too many games at the moment. Or more accurately I'm not really playing any of them but dipping in and out and not really properly enjoying or appreciating any of them.

I don't seem to be able to find anything that really grabs me at the moment :(

The quests in Re-Reckoning seem similar in fashion but the main quest from what I've seen is varied. A locked 60fps though is a plus. I think ill treat it as a Sunday morning game if I ever do get off Sekiro/Valhalla.

I'm getting this feeling more and more now I've got Game Pass, I just don't seem to be able to settle on playing anything for longer than a couple of hours. Too many gaems.

Yeah it's definitely one for the "first world problems" column but too many gaems is certainly part of the struggle right now

Been playing Ori and the Will of the Wisps on the Switch and it's a absolutely lovely little game.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution
This is so good. I love taking my time with the missions, the exploration, being stealthy, offing someone with a silenced pistol and hiding their body... :datass:
I've encountered a few gripes, but they're fairly small, and I can overlook them given that everything else is so good. Tend to sink several hours into this at a time rather than play little and often, and I find myself getting quite immersed in it. Really enjoyable game.

Hotline Miami 2
It's been years since I played and completed the original, but this feels like it just picks up where that left off in terms of gameplay. No different at all from what I can tell, which is no bad thing. I'm only about an hour in and I've already lost what's going on with the plot, but I think that was the same with the first game. Just seemed to be trying to be weird and difficult to follow for the sake of it, rather than trying to tell a good story. Doesn't bother me though, that's not really the reason I'm playing it. Looking forward to playing more of it this evening.

It's base resolution on Series X is 6K that down samples to 4K, it really is gorgeous.

Watching more of the Re-Reckoning behind me and it has an effect that I LOVE in games, the light and shadows of the trees on the ground is gorgeous, Fable 1&2 use this effect, always liked it.

Have you tried stepping away from video games for a week and enjoying other hobbies? You might get a yearning for something in particular if you have a bit of a break.
