Bloons TD 6
Chipping away at this. There's a load to do, and it's trickier than you first think. Perfect to dip in and out of.

Riptide GP: Renegade
Really enjoyed the first in the series, and this feels very much in the same vein. Enjoyable racing, good mix of race types and courses, and just very solid.

Inside
Well this is a jolly little game isn't it :lol:

Started it last night and played for nearly 4 hours. Very dark, but I like that. I'd imagine there isn't too much more left to play, so I'll probably finish it this weekend. Solid stuff though.

Marvel's Avengers - coming to the end of the main story campaign.

So.... It's good fun for the most part, bit smash then talky bit, smash then more talky bits. But I enjoy the story and the heroes getting back together is always good to see.

The major issue is the bad guys, or lack of, I mean it's marvel and so far 85% of story complete I have fought Abomination and a lot of robots. Not Ultron robots or Ultron, just random robots.

It's stunning that they don't have anyone in this to fight. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 ran like death on switch, but at least it had every villian they could squeeze in and even had some of them playable.

The store front and multi currency is annoying. The dlc characters look good so hopefully I'll enjoy them. The loot that drops, well I just hold equip best stuff and that's it.

The leveling seems ultra slow. Level 7 and 9 and nearly at the end of the game with loads of skills/power up to skills.

Looking ahead to the rumoured next couple of characters... Yikes. I mean is there is lazy and then there is that. I can see why they want to tie things to the cinematic universe but it's not going to be enough to get people excited.

Resonance of Fate
Man, the tutorial in this is awful. Doesn't even explain the full detail on what you've got to do to pass some of the steps. I like the music and the design of the world, but moving between areas on the world map is weird, and the combat's an utter mess. Going to be a struggle to keep playing this one I think.

Still slowly making my way through a mix of games,

Xbox - currently just playing Cyberpunk 2077, I’ve just passed the halfway point and as I’ve posted in the thread for it, some aspects I’m really enjoying, some not so much. For around £25 I’m pretty pleased with it though.

Switch - a mix of Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga, Knights of The Old Republic, Animal Crossing and probably some Pokémon when the Home update is finally rolled out to BDSP and Legends Arceus.

Playing a lot of Fire Emblem Awakening on 2DS, also been playing all kinds of Gamecube games on my Wii via USB key, haven't touched my switch of Xbox for awhile now oooops

Started Sleeping Dogs DE on Series X last night (so with Auto HDR & Frame Boost).

It's rather good isn't it?

It's a brilliant game, and one of my favourites of recent years (I know it came out 10 years ago, but I only played it relatively recently myself).
Just put the soundtrack on to listen now :wub:

Nice. I have only heard small bits of the soundtrack so far, but it sounds like a great mix of genres and vibes.

For some reason I always picked the same couple of stations in the game (Softly Radio :wub:

) but there's definitely a good mix.
I think I enjoyed the game more and more as it went on, so hopefully you do too.

What has really impressed me so far is the range of activities and mini games I have already encountered in the first 3 or 4 hours. I have done very little research on the game (and I plan on keeping it that way), I just know it's a..... sleeper hit. Feels like the Yakuza / GTA mash up I have always wanted.

Hong Kong Garden by Siouxsie & the Banshees is to me the theme song of the game!

I love the fact that I have not googled the radio list so everything is a surprise. It hasn't felt this way to me with licenced music on game radios since Vice City.

Initial impressions are that Kerrang will be my station of choice.

About 10 or so hours in to this (Sleeping Dogs DE) and I am still continually impressed. The story is really well told and voiced and I am still seeing new game mechanics being introduced. It's basically got Wordle (but with numbers) in it.

I'm also liking how so many of the collectables and side quest stuff actually feeds meaningfully in to your stats, rather than just being a pointless tick list.

Fantastic game, would have to really gooseberry fool the bed to not end up as at least a 9/10.

Sleeping Dogs does seem to be such a good game and - as you said - it's surprising that it isn't really mentioned that much. I only dabbled with it on my PS4 for a short time but it's definitely a game I'd like to get into. It's good to hear that you're enjoying it, kaz!

I really am. I had just finished GoT on PS5 before this, and i'm honestly finding this the more satisfying game in almost every way. Odd comparison I suppose.

If you really like the GTA, Arkham and Yakuza games then this is almost a guaranteed winner, because it's kind of those games combined but with it's own personality.

Made the mistake of reinstalling Bejeweled 3 and have spent the last couple of days playing nothing else aside from my daily wordle game and around half an hour of Coromon.

The problem with it and similar games is that I get a terrible case of the "Tetris Effect" where I get a mental image of the game when I close my eyes.

I had that with Catherine. I was just visualising moving blocks around a 3D space for hours afterwards. Maybe I should work in B&Q.
