I wrote:A.I The Somnium Files

Just finished the Iris route, which was pretty heart wrenching stuff please let there be an ending where the poor lass doesn't die horribly

I think I have two more endings to see before the true ending A-Set must live!

Still making my way through the different endings but am currently stuck on a section where I keep running out of time as I keep getting either lost or stuck on various bits of scenery (playing with an onscreen keyboard isn't the most accurate method ).

In between playing Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition I’ve been dabbling with some classic PS1 games on my PSVita and I’m kinda surprised how a lot of it still holds up even today. Played through a bit of the classic Resident Evil Trilogy and the tank controls feel fine, fired up Silent Hill which I’ve never really played and again, plays well and looks fine on the small Vita screen. Also picked up Metal Gear Solid which again is a game I’ve rarely played other than a demo that came with a magazine disc back in the day and I was really getting into it in the 30/45 mins I played

Planning to go through all of these over the next few months as I realised PS1 is quite a blank spot for me, back then I jumped between games a lot as I had a chipped PS1 so had a ton of games :shifty: so never stuck to one to completion.

Beaten Cynthia on Brilliant Diamond tonight, still very meh on my second play of these remakes, compared to Legends Arceus they feel like a chore to play with how slow everything is in comparison. Think I might transfer my Garchomp and Dialga to Pearl through home and then definitely get one more Giratina and Arceus from them, I know I could get 2 more of the latter but what’s the point? or I might just drop it altogether and focus on Legends Arceus and F1 22 till Friday, when there should be a cracker of a game arriving in the post :toot:

Really hope whenever we get the almost inevitable Pokémon Black and White remakes, they’re more akin to whatever the actual current gen games are like. Even a DP remake that was like Sword and Shield would have been great, they could have treated the underground like the Wild Area in Sword and Shield, with what we got they were almost too faithful for their own good, I will commend it on having an absolutely solid champion though so it’s not all bad.

Monument Valley I & II

Finished the first one and am just over an hour into the second one, both are brilliant, short and strangely emotional.

The M.C Escher esque levels (the second game makes references to Mondrian too) are mind blowing and oddly mess up your spacial awareness for a while after exiting the game

Still Mass Effect 3. I’m past where I reached first time I played this, actually I think I’m right near the end of the game now.

Dying light 2 - PS5 - enjoying this and the upgrade/crafting system. Nighttime is still a pain but I'm upgrading my stuff so I can stay out longer and handle the hordes.

The game runs well and weapons feel heavy with each hit really landing. Really enjoying it and will probably get the dlc when it's cheap.

Wish my image sig would work

It feels like things have perhaps been a bit quiet around the game in comparison to the original, so it's good to hear that you're having fun with it, Godzilla.

I've dabbled with a few games over the past week or two but my main time has been spent on F76 (no surprise) and FFXIV (surprise!). I love the atmosphere and scale of XIV and I've started out with a new character, with the aim of getting a better understanding of the fighting mechanisms than I did when I played before.

Crysis Remastered

Really enjoying this first foray into the series. The action is really, really good but I feel it's lacking in story. I understand what the story is but it could do with going more in depth, fleshing everythibg out a bit more, including the characters.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

It’s a good game. What you crave sort of comes in 2 and 3. But in my opinion In going more linear the game loses some of the open world nature of game 1.

Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island DLC (PS4)
Had to install the PS Plus version of the game to get Iki on, but no real biggie. Just finished the main quest line and have really enjoyed my little journey back. The enemies are definitely tougher; the 2nd part of the Eagle fight was a bit of a git! Think I'll go mop up the rest of the island while I'm here.

I'd really like to try Tsushima, dmin - mainly for the excellent photo mode! I hope to pick up a copy when the PS5 version drops in price; or give it a go if I join Extra in the future .

It's a great game. The fast travel speed is proper mind blowing in the PS5 release (it may well be great in the PS4 version also). The Iki island content was my favourite part of the whole game.

Been playing through the first Megaman via the Megaman Legacy Collection on Nintendo Switch, used the rewind feature so much I have no idea how anybody could beat this without such features

It is indeed lightning fast, I restarted from scratch as my save file didnt transfer to my ps5... cant really remember how fast, fast travelling was on ps4(I completed the game originally on the standard ps4) but on ps5 its instant.

Completed ACT 1 yesterday on it... will try to finish the main quest again before going for the dlc

Def worth it; just need to set aside some time as it's quite lengthy. Well, if you end up doing everything like I did! It's a truly beautiful game, I was in the photo mode lots!

Iki Island was really good and just the right length too. Just finished; there were only a handful of things I ended up not doing.

Yep, I felt compelled to do the vast majority of it also. It felt so nice and compact. Loved it.

Ai Somnium Files: Nirvana Initiative (I think)

2 endings reached and really enjoying it. Everything is sexualised to a point where it has gone from crass to funny to just white noise now, but the actual story stuff is that brilliant mix of real world phenomenon, conspiracy theories and sci-fi, all blurred together in a way that has you starting to question yourself.

I think Uchikoshi has a real knack for making horror work, and even though his games are often mechanically simple, I don't think they would work nearly as well in any format other than video games.

Looking forward to seeing how it all resolves (and hoping I at least somewhat manage to follow it).

Outer Wilds (PS4)
Hmmm. Played an hour and I don't know; made it to a planet and an asteroid (and managed to get a silver trophy for dying ) but I couldn't really be bothered running around and reading all the stuff. Also, didn't help the first planet seemed pretty barren. It was pretty late though and I don't think I was in the right mindset tbh.

Tetris Effect (PS4)
Good, but not fully sold on all the extra visual stuff. Feels like too much going on and it's harder to concentrate on the actual blocks.

Everybody's Golf (PS4)
Enjoying this; there's nothing amazing with the mechanics, but it's good have something laid back to jump on to!
