Stardew Valley, I'm moving into Spring Year 2. I've done way more in the first year than my first playthrough, I have reached the bottom of the mine, I have several animals, fruit trees, a greenhouse and a production line for jams. Great game. I'm looking forward to hitting the new content for version 1.5

I've stuck about an hour and a half into The Swapper and I'm impressed by what I've played so far. The core mechanic is fantastic and they've been expanding on it in some nice ways. Still early days with it, but yeah, I hope this stays the same level of quality throughout.

I really enjoyed The Swapper. I think its the only game i have completed and not get any achievements for

Have you played Teslagrad? You could easily beat that and have no trophies or achievements.

DmC
I'm playing through Vergil's Downfall now, having completed the main game with Dante. Having fun with it, but I've no desire to play through it again on other difficulties or to get missing keys or souls or whatever, so I'll be done with this soon. Vergil's Downfall seems okay, but it's not as fun as the main game.

DiRT 4

Really enjoying this. Seems like there's a lot to do, and it's all good fun so far. It's been a long time since I've played a rally game, so I'm enjoying that aspect of it, and the other events seem decent too, although I've still got quite a few event types to unlock.

Contrast
This is surprisingly good so far. I like the mechanic of going into the shadows, and how creative that is (and the puzzles and such it allows for). There are a few annoyances - I just want to play the damn game without control being taken from me every few seconds or minutes for a new cut scene - but the positives outweigh the negatives so far.

Recently watched a video about great games that never got sequels and one of them was Sleeping Dogs (the DE was a games with gold a while back) so I'm downloading now to see if it's any good plus the added HDR should and texture filtering on Series X should make things looks a little better. I'll report back later.

Other than that I'm playing Rocket League which I'm convinced has the most toxic community on the planet (although I don't play FIFA/CoD anymore). I'm stuck on platinum 3 and my fury is almost always at my own team mates.

I played Far Cry 4 and Sniper Elite 4 and the FPS boost is very impressive. I forgot that just before the Series X launched I was really getting into FC4 so I've enjoyed playing more of it at locked 60, sure the resolution makes it look a little 'soft' but it's still stupid fun. I played through the first level so SE4 with my daughter on co-op (it's 60fps on S and X) and it was brilliant.

Some lovely people helped me out in Dark Souls DE, the first invaded my game to help me kill things rather than me (they invade to kill 99% of the time) he killed loads of things, opened up a short cut and vanished. Then 2 others left summon signs outside the fight against the 2 Ogres on top of church. The Capra demon is next up though.

Other than that I'm playing more Halo MCC mp with mates, Halo 2 Anniversary online is gorgeous.

Some screenies:

I thought Sleeping Dogs was awesome, the open world isn't big, but it is focused, and I prefer that. More games should do contextual executions as well. Some of them are pretty funny.

It’s showing it’s age now, big time. Even the ‘definitive edition’ is not particularly pleasant.
It’s a *little* bit like what I’m playing now, Mafia 2. For starters you can just ignore this SEMI COLON, enhanced definitive mastered bollocks because it’s ropey as all hell. Dull, and the writing is just a load of knackers.

Visually, yeah, I agree with this. Played it on PC maybe a year or two ago, the character models were a bit dated looking then. Still thought it was great overall though.

I’ve been going through Super Princess Peach on DS this week. I’ve beaten the main campaign and most of the post game stuff, right now I’m going back through the final world picking up the new collectables and I’ll soon be playing the last batch of unlockable levels.

About an hour and a half in to the Alan Wake content of Control now. I understood this to be the weaker of the two pieces of DLC, but so far i have really enjoyed the tone and the light puzzle solving (genuinely no pun intended there).

Put more time into Stardew and The Swapper. The latter gave me a big headache. It's a brilliant puzzle game. I am really struggling with certain puzzles though :dread:

I'm playing Snowrunner! I got the premium edition on sale for £36, and I'm pretty sure that's by far the most expensive game I've bought in the last 2 years!

The first couple of hours were not what I expected, but once the tutorial-ish fix the bridge bit was out of the way, it started to click. Picked up a contract to just collect a trailer. Wow, that's easy! Oh hang on, there's been a rockslide and you can't get to the trailer. Okay, let's get them what they need to clear the rockslide. Service parts from the Warehouse you say? I'm sure it took me over an hour to get to the warehouse and I had to send my little scout truck to tow the bigger one, and now that's become quite standard thanks to it's AWD.

I know I need to spend some time activating watchtowers and finding new trucks.

Started playing Planet Coaster on the PS5 and my first impressions are great. The level of micro management on offer is really impressive and it's going to take many hours before I'm comfortable delving deep into the mechanics.

Designing a roller coaster in the tutorial was really interesting. The rides appear to use realistic physics which means, after a test run, you can see all sorts of data superimposed over the ride which is great for identifying why people find the ride too scary/nauseating/etc.

Working my way through the objective based "Career" while I learn the basics but I'm really looking forward to planning a park from scratch. It's a delight.

Played the first act of Kentucky Route Zero last night. Love the tone and feel of it, and with headphones in its quite a powerful experience. As expected, its pretty light on game play, but i think im going to enjoy my time with it.

Really liking Dicey Dungeons so far, the way each character mixes up the mechanics so much is really fun.

Also played a few hours of Worldwide game son Switch. I bought it hoping me and the wife would play it, but, predictibly, its ended up being me vs the CPU. Enjoying some games that i have never heard of before, as well as playing some of the more arcade like experiences.

I am so enamoured with Planet Coaster right now. It fills me with such a strong sense of satisfaction.

Last night I finished off all the extra levels in Super Princess Peach finding all the collectables on the way. I now have only two jigsaws to solve and some mini games to beat to unlock the final item in the shop. The mini games could prove a nuisance as one involves blowing into the DS mic which I can’t always get to work.

Felt like playing a DS Game last night so I picked a random game, and I played Trauma Center Under The Knife. Pretty dam enjoyable game, it's one of those early DS games that actually uses the touch screen in creative ways. Pretty dam hard at times mind.

I think there's a sequel, but it's US only.

Yeah, its a great game. I remember buying it near release, together with Phoenix Wright and an import of Ouendan. Great times.

It got too dificult for me in the end, and my complete lack of artistic ability meant that the star you have to draw to slow time (i think thats right) would rarely work for me. Maybe it was a left handed issue. Do you get many left handed surgeons?

Apparently all polar bears are left handed. Not surgeons though.

I don't think I ever got past the operation with the tapeworm parasites. Apparently that level was easier if you dual wielded a stylus in each hand but it was still too hard for me even then!

Great game though, I want to play it again now. I'm sure I still have it somewhere.
