Still enjoying this, and now that I understand some of the mechanics better, it's probably more enjoyable than before. I've completed the game with the stock ships and on Rookie difficulty, so will go through the other difficulties now and try some of the challenges and perhaps buy the season pass.

Pro Evo 2018
Settled into this a bit now and it's a decent level of challenge. Playing Master League trying to take the mighty West Midlands Village to the top. It's good fun.

Killzone Shadow Fall
This is the first Killzone game I've played. I knew it had a reputation of being a bit average, but as it was a PS4 launch game, I wanted to check it out. I think I'm on Chapter 5, and it's okay so far. I feel like the plot and the 'threat' of the Helghast all feels a bit...hollow? Maybe it's because I haven't played the previous games, and so perhaps don't feel that connected to the world and the lore, but it feels like it's trying to go for something deep and impactful, but there's just not much impact in the story or the characters. The shooting mechanics are fine, but the weapons all feel a bit samey and some of the icons and controls - particularly with regards to the OWL - could be better. Also, unless I'm missing something, there's no torch or flashlight attachment on the guns, and in some places it's almost completely dark and you can't see a thing. Seems like an odd omssion, unless it's me who's missing something. I'll complete the campaign on this, but I can't see myself going through it again or otherwise returning to it.

Still playing these, although moving onto the higher difficulties in Resogun and it's proving tricky. I thought the difficulty curve was really well pitched when progressing through the levels on the lowest difficulty (which is what I started on), but moving up, even the first level is difficult on the middle setting. Guess it'll take some more practice, but it feels like more of a slog than it should maybe.

Starting to get good at Pro Evo 2018 now, and looking set to get promoted to the Premier League :datass:

Killzone Shadow Fall is fine still, but they keep throwing new gameplay mechanics in while never fully letting you exploit the previous ones, and it all still feels a bit hollow and meaningless. Will probably look to finish this one ASAP and move onto something else. Taking it a chaper at a time so far, I think I'm on chapter 8.

I've also started playing Flower. I've completed it once already, but will likely re-visit the levels and perhaps try and get some of the trophies. It's pretty good. The music is lovely, and the visuals are nice, but the camera can be a nightmare at times, and the controls - while generally very good - still feel a bit 'loose' and imprecise sometimes.

Started WWE 2K23

First wrestling game since 12 or 13, menu after menu in menu of menu whilst your looking for a menu.
Trying to have a quick play match against an opponent but keep getting error & get booted back to the menu, in every match I’ve played so far.
Not sure if 2K or the developer is responsible but your servers make EA servers look good.

Im not angry or annoyed, but I’m legit embarrassed for you sunshine.

Still loving Dave The Diver. Had a good hour on it earlier and it properly got me into that flow state, in a way I find a lot of games just don't any more. When I realised that upgrades and deeper exploration meant that dives would start to take longer and longer, I was worried the game would lose its pick up and play appeal, but it's moving at just the right pace that the now 20 minute dives still feel the perfect length. Just enough to see and do more each time, always balancing the risk of going deeper, using more oxygen, alongside discovering more, and topping up your growing inventory. Expanding the restaurant is great fun, too.

I'm playing FFVII original on Switch. Near the end of disc 2.

Does anyone or has anyone played Deep Rock Galactic? Always been interested in trying it but wondered if it was any good?

It’s brilliant. Needs to be played with others though to get the most from it.

I put about 10-15 hours into it with Kriken. I really enjoyed it! Good "hang out with buddies" game. It feels great when you've done a few excavation and know your roles. You feel like a proper professional crew.

If you like the idea of chillout excavation but want to play something by yourself you may want to look at Hardspace Shipbreaker! You work for a space salvage company and slowly take apart ships from a first person viewpoint in zero G. It's cool!

Cheers both, I’ll take a look at that Hardspace game and Deep Rock and see which one appeals to me more

I played a few hours of Hardspace and would agree. It did not grab me as much as DRG, but it is a really good single player alternative.

Hardspace is £2 and Deep Rock is £9 so I may just get both in that case

They're also both on Gamepass, Milner. You could sub for a month for that price and try loads of other stuff!

RoboCop - PS5 - finally finished this today, the last boss was a fantastic bit of fan service. Really wish there was a new game plus, but I think they'll add it eventually.

Armoured Core 6 - PS5 - finally returned to this and beat a timed defence mission. Unlocked some new equipment and once again stuck on what I think is the final boss. But I'll keep chipping away as I've now got 4 gattling guns equipped so I'm melting most other mechs.

Wish my image sig would work

New Game Plus has now been confirmed for Robocop. Not sure on a date but I doubt it'll be long.

I’ll be on Steam Deck which I don’t think GamePass works well on, I’ll try one first then maybe wait on the other.

Finished FFVII so I stuck on Ultreia. It's okay so far. It's a point and click game where the main character is a tiny robot wanting revenge. It's a bit weird in places.

I just bought this seeing as it was just over a quid on Steam.

Also now have a game starting with U for the gaming alphabet.

Finally managed to pull through my 3rd match in faction wars in WWE 2K23.

The ai was absolutely relentless in this match. Felt harder than normal difficulty.

Time to start another Metroidvania :msgreen:

This time it's Lone Fungus.

I'm only 90 minutes in but I'm really enjoying it so far. Movement and abilities are giving me Hollow Knight vibes (except that Lone Fungus explains downward bounce attacks immediately! :P ) and it has a bright and colourful aesthetic that's reminiscent of The Messenger. Very satisfying to play so far and the platforming feels great.
