The music and art style are incredible, what's wrong with you?

If they took the art and the animation and turned it into pixel art? That'd be fine. But the modern cartoony style they've opted for... it does nothing for me.

I agree that the style is a little too cartoony - it's very similar to Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap remake, so it's obviously Lizardcube's "thing", but it works a lot better in that game. Have you tried the retro filter? It pixellates everything so you might find that more to your liking.

The music is fine for the most part but it pales in comparision with the originals, as do most video game soundtracks. This is probably my favourite:

Been meaning to get SoR 4 for ages, it looks great.

I've been playing through Minecraft Dungeons and you know what it's an incredibly basic Diablo like adventure but it's very fun and enjoyable. Though the preformance on Switch is pretty awful

I knew about the filters but I'd completely forgotten about them :fp:

(I think I put it to the back of my mind partly because when I first saw the filters, it looked like they would change the character models only, with the backgrounds keeping the modern look. But thankfully that's not the case for the game proper.) Yes, just had a quick go with them on and that was MUCH better. It has a similar option for music as well! Ta for the heads up :mrgreen:

Yeah, no excuse for playing it so late. Though I did put A LOT of games on the back burner toward the end of last gen, so it wasn't anything personal against SoR!

I have been playing this as well and I am really enjoying it too! It does chug at times when tons of things are going on but for the most part it’s been fine for me, the sacrifice to play it on a handheld is worth it

Mario 64 on Switch. I’ve been playing this in short bursts over the past week or two, currently on 59 stars.

It pains me to say this and I do love this game but it is really starting to show it’s age. Due to the shoddy camera and floaty controls some simple actions are a lot harder to pull off than they need to be.

I think this game deserves a proper, from the ground up remake not just a port at a higher resolution. In it’s day this was a nigh perfect game but it’s day was nearly 25 years ago.

What do you think of The Spirit? I haven't got her yet although I do have 11,000 shards at the moment so I can unlock a free character when I've decided who I want (currently tempted to go for Deathslinger).

Might treat myself to the Stranger Things DLC while it's on sale.

Yakuza 3. I adore these games.

Also nearing the end of Max - The Curse of Brotherhood, which i have really enjoyed.

She seems okay so far, I need to get used to the invisible walking thing though. I bought Legion as well but I'm not sure about that one so far.

Legion is one of my favourites. I just love chasing everybody around the map. Even if I don't sacrifice many, it's fun just to mess with them. And he has my favourite killer perk (the one that highlights a generator when two or more survivors are repairing it). I've started using the perk with Jigsaw and it works amazingly well when coupled with her stealth attack.

Bit more Division 2 and yeah it's more of the same, but it's still a very enjoyable game, especially with other players.

When they first previewed it both the art style and music for Streets of Rage 4 disappointed me. But after playing the game my view changed almost instantly - it is a game that both looks and sounds incredible. If it wasn't for Doom Eternal it would have easily been my GOTY for last year.

I just bought Oni as well.

I'm yet to see anyone actually bleed out from his special attack but you can give it some decent buffs with items (blind, etc). You noticed it indicates where the other survivors are once to wound someone, right? I find darting from one survivor to the next really fun. Get the entire party wounded and then you have a rough idea of where everyone is. They'll either be hiding and healing or going back to the generators, wounded and ripe for finishing off. I find him really fun for messing with the survivors, keeping them on their toes and being chased around the map all game.

I just started playing as Oni recently and he's really powerful. I managed to down two survivors at once with his special attack and it felt great :nod:

Just done my first game as the Oni, quickest 4K I've ever had but they were all level 20 against me at 14. Levelled it up to 10 and I got lucky with the perks showing up early in the blood web (green Sloppy Butcher, green Whispers and yellow BBQ & Chilli)

I played a chunk of Daymare 1998 today and I think I might be snookered. I burned through the bulk of my ammo in a boss fight and I’m not sure if I can continue.
