Same idea as the CP thread in General what retro games are you currently playing at the moment
Just to be clear I also count last gen (PS2 GC Xbox) as Retro now

Heres mine:

Battalion Wars (GC) - I started this last year and got about 5 missions in then never got back to it so I've just wiped the save file and i'm going to start again over the weekend

Super Mario World (SNES/GC) - I'm currently midway through my yearly playthrough this game is still as amazing now as it was when I first played it  i'm playing via the SNES emulator on my GC as I can't find my SNES at the moment

I also plan on starting Donkey kong country again before year end

Metal Gear Solid on PSP  and Castlevania III Dracula's Curse on Virtual Console. Both are wonderful games.

Majoras Mask for GRPlayde and Metal Gear Solid on the PSP.

I do agree the top down view is best for mgs on the psp and the controls for peace walker do not work and there should be a hd remake for ps3 asap.

Majoras Mask is just awesome and I cannot wait to get stuck into the great bay next week!

Erm what? The controls are pretty much as good as they get on PSP. They make the original feeling pretty archaic in comparison. Use the stick for movement, face buttons for strafing, L&R for shooting/melee/aiming etc and the d-pad for weapon selection. Worked perfectly in the two Syphon Filters and Resistance, Peace Walker is a technical marvel. Plus if you have a PSP Go you play this in 720p with a Dual Shock 8-) 8-)

Yeah the controls are okay for the psp, but they should have made the game for the console, but instead thought they could fit a square peg into a round hole.

They should release it on PS3 using the MGS4 engine that has now gone to waste.

Yeah exactly, I do hope it gets a home console release, the psp demo is a bit too tough to control.

Starting to get more and more into Castlevania III. Really is a cracking game. I love the branching choices between levels and the boss fights are pretty special. Anyone with a Wii should download this.

Simon's Quest is there. I fancy going through that again once I'm done with III. I don't care what the haters say Simon's Quest is awesome.

Great thread! I shall be popping in often 8-)

Simon's Quest is a great game, just one you need to go into with a pocket of patience and a guide handy, due to the game's obscure puzzles. There is fun to be had with it though.

III is indeed excellent, I'm near the end of it. Unfortunately I've ended up with a second character I don't particularly like :( (the blue mage). I wish I got Alucard!

Ace. I haven't checked the VC for ages so I think I'll download some stuff for Christmas.

Kirby's Fun Pak/Superstar

This was one of the 'major' Nintendo releases I hadn't yet played. Until now! Have to say it's a very fun game, proving to be infinitely replayable with all the powers you can alternate between. And although I only got a chance to try it out briefly, the co-op was very fun too. It'll be staying in my SNES cartridge slot for a while*, that's for sure!

*until I get round to my second Super Metroid playthrough :shifty:
