I love a good curry, in fact it's one of the more exotic meals I taught myself to cook at home (with mixed results). It's a slow process to get it right, but when it comes together it's so worth it.

I'm not really into takeaways, I prefer to head out to a restaurant proper so every few months or so, on a week day, myself and my dad go out for a curry. We're actually going out this evening as it happens and I'm, as always, very much looking forward to it. Good food, banter with my father, good times.

So, do you do curry?

I really enjoy a nice curry, but my internal organs can't handle anything too spicy so I tend to go for the milder varieties. I used to always order a madras when I went out for a curry, but there's no fun to be had sweating profusely and not being able to actually taste what I'm eating.

In terms of shop-bought currys, I have yet to have anything nicer than M&S.

I think anybody that doesn’t like curry should be banned.

Curry night is the one little beacon I have, makes me feel like a normal ordinary guy, not some sad freak stuck in deep space; no woman, no hope, no curry.

We generally go to a place in Tewkesbury called the Rajshahi and aside from the plentiful portions their hot curries don't lose any of the flavour as I've found with other restaurants. You can have a madras and still taste bags of flavour. The naan breads they do are also to die for.

Yes, love it. Wife isn't a huge fan though so it tends to be saved for those times when I'm eating alone!

Used to go in for the full on spicy variety but these days would rather just have something with good flavours and can take or leave the spice factor.

You needed lager, it's the only think that can kill a vindaloo.

I just had a beef Massaman curry and it was pretty lush. I pretty much always go for a chicken dhansak whenever I get an Indian as I like heat and it's about the hottest I can handle. Phal and vindaloos are terrible.

Poll needs a love option that isn't dependent on spice! :capnscotty:

Should be an option for each different type of curry as well (eg. bhuna, madras etc.)

So is this thread Gemini's subtle contribution to the "Hot or not" revival?

Curry is glorious. I tend to flick between a Madras, a Tikka Dansak and a Pathia.

I love a good curry but I'm not good with spice, so I tend to stick to masala and kormas.

My taste buds can't handle spicy at all.
Even the mildest Tikka Massala will make my tongue recoil in horror.
