It wasn't, at least not according to the DF video: it was 1080p upscaled.

I don't know how they are planning on getting this to run on OG Xbox One.

This always had the look of a title worth waiting for the next generation or a serious PC upgrade before playing.

It's like at the end of the 360/PS3 gen when you had stuff like MGSV coming out across both the old and the new machines - yes technically you can play the same game on the old machines but don't kid yourself that it's the way anyone wants you to be playing it.

I'm just going to grin and bear it because I don't think I'll be buying another console.

I may be jumping the gun on this but.

Thanks, I hate it.

I know they're releasing this after the main game, and we don't even know what sort of multiplayer it will be (Mass Effect shooty MP or GTA Online shared world though I'd hope it will be the latter) but what we do know is that it's setting the game up as an investment game, something they want long term commitment to. A game as a service, if you will ( ). This combined with their demos' emphasis on the shooty-bangs makes me think, again, this is more going to be more Assassin's Creed than Witcher.

I have no interest in the multiplayer aspects of most games (unless there's a hassle-free opportunity for a GR meet up, which doesn't happen often :() so I'm completely apathetic to anything CP2077 has to offer in this regard.

I'll withhold judgement on this latest development - CDPR are pretty much the only people who have done DLC right in my book, Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine are absolutely incredibly pieces of work that offered more than plenty of whole games did in terms of quantity and quality of content.

For that reason CDPR still have plenty of credit in the bank with regards to post game content for me personally.

Whatever. I won't be playing it. I have played decent games in the past with tacked-on multiplayer I never touched.

It just seems kind of pointless. From what I have heard, the combat in 2077 isn't so good that you'd want to have to have matches when there are an endless array of other titles available.

So in lieu of this I'm going through Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Not only am I enjoying it far more than I did the first time round, I'd completely forgotten how amazing it looks:

Golem City is an absolute marvel of detail and atmosphere. And this is from 4 years ago! If Cyberpunk can pull off this level of detail on a GTA scale...well.

They’re obviously eyeing up GTA5’s multiplayer and eying up the cash that’s made, and it’s hard to blame them.

It’s unfortunate though because GTA5 devotes it’s resources post launch to multiplayer and we never got extra single player content and GTA4’s DLC campaigns were better than the main game. I’m only actually playing Witcher 3 for the first time
now so haven’t got to the DLC yet but I understand they were very well received but Cyberpunk may be a similar case to GTA5, where they go all in on multiplayer after it’s released.

The Witcher 3 DLCs were arguably better then the main game, and certainly contain the strongest quest mechanics of the whole thing

I think this game will also be used to highlight the extra power of next gen with an upgraded version being available maybe even at the next gen console launches.
It'll be interesting to see what they improve as I don't think a simple graphical upgrade will be enough now so maybe they'll add more AI background characters and improved physics and stuff.

The adventure begins with three different playable prologues depending on the origin story you choose for protagonist V, called lifepaths.

“The player in Cyberpunk 2077 can create a custom character that has one of three origin stories, that we call lifepaths: you can be Nomad, Corpo or Street Kid,” lead quest designer Paweł Sasko told VG247 at E3 this year.

“Each of that Lifepaths has a different starting location and story background that are strongly connected with the origin story. Anything more I say can reveal too much from the story, so I will leave it like this.”

This sounds great, a bit like Dragon Age Origins.

Same. I'd have played it on next gen. But to be honest, I'm not THAT hyped about it. I'm glad it's coming, but I'm not gagging to play it.

To be honest I was more surprised when it was announced for April, late 2020 was always the earliest I had it pegged for.

Gives me more time to get my new PC together for it at least!
