Got the PC version of this cheap (With an eye to playing it on steamdeck at some point) and I've fallen in love with it all over again.
First time playing on PC but it runs really nicely on my rig (Getting what feels like solid 60fps @ 1080p on a Geforce 1080 set to Ultra presets, though I haven't confirmed that). I think my CPU and RAM are doing the real heavy lifting. I'd love to crank it up to 4K but I just don't have the ridiculous amounts of cash it would take to get a card that could do that (strawberry float the graphics card market right now).
They seem to have fixed a lot of the glitches as I've not encountered anywhere near as many as I did on the Series X. They're still there but the ones I've seen aren't too egregious, mostly some momentary T-posing and weird physics interactions. Biggest one I saw was when I entered a busier area and all the random, wandering NPCs it started spawning in were exactly the same guy repeated about 15 times. Gave me a chuckle.
The world is still amazing and I find the characters and storyline interesting enought to want to replay it (Though I'm hoping to get a different ending this time).
Going for a far more focused "Netrunner" type playthrough though compared to the generic hybrid style I had last time which invariably ended up with me just blasting everything. I'm focusing on levelling up the intelligence stat and already it's becoming quite useful. The "Short Circuit" quickhack, combined with a nice submachine gun I found (which sets the target on fire), is absolutely chewing through enemies. This is all just with the basic Cyberdeck you start with too and I've only just finished the first Act of the game as well. Literally stopped when you
wake up in the apartment and meet Johnny Silverhand for the first time, so I think this potentially might be a bit OP.
I'm still planning on going through it again on Series X once the next-gen patch hits later next year, mostly to see what it looks like with that additional grunt being utilised, but I imagine that will co-incide with the first big chunky bits of DLC.
Anyone else who's been on the fence about it (That isn't waiting for the NG-Patch), now is a good time to give it a shot I think, as it can be picked up pretty cheaply. There's an absolutely wonderful (Though admittedly disappointing in quite a few ways) game in here that's well worth taking a look at.
