I know I’m ridiculously early but so far it’s not a patch on The Witcher 3 (as that’s the only one I’ve played) so far, in writing, even comparing the opening handful of hours of both games. I’ll try and put another couple of hours into this evening, sadly been called into work tomorrow so that’ll cut down how long I can spend with it tomorrow, was hoping to make a fair bit of headway into it while I’ve got some time off of work (or not )

Yeah it's absolutely nowhere near TW3

So far I have no idea if any of the conversation options actually have a impact or not, in TW3 even very early choices you made had an impact (whether you kill the guards in the tavern or not for example), in this I have no idea, just partway through a mission where I’m getting a robot for someone, for some reason  I keep getting hacked a ridiculous amount in combat too :(

Yes, compared to TW3, it doesn't give you the same sense of agency, but I'm enjoying this far more than I thought I would.

One of my nitpicks is the map. It's dense and very samey meaning that it's hard to get a sense of direction. TW3 by contrast put more sense of place in fields and forests than cyberpunk has managed with Night City.

I’ve not had a chance to explore Night City yet (thinking that I should just crack on with the story and hope it grabs my attention) but even in my short time with it I’ve just been met with locked door after locked door (maybe it’s just the small area I looked around in rather than a common theme) which makes it not as appealing to explore as something like The Witcher 3.

I’d say I’m feeling the opposite, a few hours in and I’m not enjoying this as much as I thought I would be, hopefully it’ll just be a case of things clicking down the line.

Just got to the first brain dance which is kind of neat? Feels very Blade Runner, but I feel like if you’re forced into them too often they might lose the ‘neat’ factor. Reckon this might be a finish the main quest kind of game and a little of the side content, definitely not grabbed me enough in my 5 hours so far to push for anything near 100% completion.

Finished the main story over last weekend, and that was like one of the saddest endings I could ever experience

The lats part is very open ended with choices so will definately try to go for a different route next weekend.... or youtube them :shifty:

I seem to be only focusing on the main story from what I’ve played so far, it seems very much an A to B point and repeat game for me, the worlds not begging to be explored like other open world games have done (Skyrim, BoTW, TW3 to name a few) so have barely delved into the side quests, or upgrading perks for that matter. The main story seems to be picking up ever so slightly though which is good I guess.

Loaded this back up back up today and just started the heist mission, think I’m just going to focus on the main story missions for now, would much rather see the credits than not at all and not enjoy the side quests.

If you're talking about the heist to go and steal the item from Arasaka, then you've barely scratched the surface. Game opens up a fair bit more after this.

Hopefully I’ll stumble across some more intriguing side quests then, the main quest certainly is getting more interesting but so far 0 of the side quests have got my interest. I’m planning to stick with this before starting anything else on my Xbox at least.

Yeah you start getting a lot more to do and more paths to take. Hope you enjoy it!

Yeah there are some really good side quests coming up. I think you’ll open up other characters story arcs too.

I’ve been tempted to dip back in. But I’ve got other stuff to play.

I hope I do become more invested in the world as I put more time into it, but like you mention Bertie, I’ve got plenty of other stuff to be playing that except for a few series and games I’m happy to just see the credits on a lot of games rather than pushing for anything near 100% completion.

Feels like this is really getting its claws into me now that I’ve met Jonny and the world feels to have opened up, even though it probably hasn’t. Still doubt I’ll do most of the side quests but the main quest is getting quite interesting now. I’ve still no idea what to spend my perk points on yet either

Just dived into this after being impressed by the trial in Feb. Have just worked through the end of Act 1 and the half hour plot dump you get after that.

Anyone got recommendations of what to start with first keen to get a gentle intro to the games systems without having to sit down and read menus for hours on end. Wondering if mainlining the story is just the best option. I've forgotten most stuff from the trial and all the crap in my inventory is a bit mind boggling.

Done my first real mission which was awesome. Felt like I had a number of ways to approach things and possible outcomes. Environment was cool and characters all great. Bit too talky and stealth could be a bit easier but it might just be I've not worked out the systems.

The Sharkey screen you get when affected by Johnny is beyond strawberry floating annoying though. I can't tell if the game is glitches out or it wants me to do something. Either it's horrible and unplayable like that. strawberry floating Devs seem to love to pull this gooseberry fool, dunno if it's supposed to tie you to what your character is going through. Whatever it is its bloody awful.

The combat is absolutely the worst thing about this by a mile

I quite enjoyed the gunplay from what I remember. Bursting into a place with a shotgun and cleaning house was just :datass:
