I keep seeing this game for like £23 second hand or around £28 new and wondering if its worth having a crack at this kind of price point or if I should just wait for it to go lower

It'll go lower soon enough.
Hang in a little longer - plus it'll be fixed by then.

lol no it wont

I enjoyed the game, but the patches so far don't make me optimistic. Which hurts, because it was so close to being specular, but ended up being 'great' at a lot of things, with an underlying current of jank dragging it down outside of those peaks.

I assumed it would be fixed by now, it’s pretty staggering how this just dropped off the radar after all the hype from the past few years. Wonder if this’ll get a relaunch when the next gen optimisation version hits or it’ll just be swept under the rug.

I've seen the ps4 one for £19 if that had been the xbox one then I'd have jumped but I think your right I don't think it will be too long before it's £15 new somewhere and I've got plenty to play.

Have they said when the next-gen patch is coming? Towards the end of the year still?

Q3 2021 at the earliest. Considering how everything else they've promised has been delayed or under-delivered, I wouldn't hold out much hope for that, even.

Yeah I’m not holding my breath, 2022 if at all. This was meant to be the best thing since sliced bread ffs, overhyped to insanity. Lessons learned from the devs, media, and gamers hopefully.

There was a report recently that the CP2077 launch tripled CPDR profit expectations and was one of the largest media launches in history, but the damage to their reputation as a studio has been done. I remember years ago the chaps on Waypoint reckoning that if they could pull off the release CDPR would be the new Rockstar, a developer so massively influential they could basically act as they pleased for the rest of their existence.

Instead they completely strawberry floated it and are now seen as a lying, deceitful studio of hacks led by grifters whose word is about as trustworthy as Peter Molyneux's.

Which is both a shame and just desserts.

TBH 90 hours and I have loved the game. Sure the constant crashing makes you want to throw the controller out of the window, but once maybe twice per extended game time and you get used to it. Most of the other glitches have been enemies falling after being killed or sometimes the hit detection is off but nothing major.

The one that still hurts is one of my missions glitched very early on and it would stop me getting the platinum trophy so I haven't bothered trying to go for it. If they patched it im still strawberry floated though as ive hit the max level cap and not put all my upgrades into one area.

Finished. Really enjoyed the story and the world, glitches aside and there is lots, and its not perfect but try and ignore them and there is a great entertaining game there.

Sandra mission? That's the one that did it for me.

I uninstalled this last night, with my journey still unfinished (much like the game itself amirite!)

I'd lost all momentum on my journey and after trying to pick it back up a couple of times and bouncing off it I thought "why the strawberry float am I bothering?"

No its one of the psycho missions. I killed one before I was given the mission so I can’t continue it, known issue on the cyberpunk forum. Stops me getting two trophies, one for killing all Psychos and one for 100% all missions in that area.

Obviously that is an absurd amount for the board members.

If the average employee did get 34k then that's a massive bonus in Poland though. Think it works out as about 2 and a half years of the average Polish person's salary, just as a bonus.

Plus the biggest thing the ratio of bonus to salary throws a light on is just how strawberry floating atrocious the base salary of these employees is. You can bet that all the poor souls working crunch in low level dev roles and QA get paid pennies AND got a gooseberry fool bonus. All while the CEO's who control these things get rich.

Fair, I'm not here to defend them. I knew one junior to mid level programmer in Warsaw who was very happy with them but obviously I don't know how much he was being paid.
