They confirmed a while back that she won't be in the game, but I really don't believe them. There's no way she won't turn up in a side/hidden quest

Yeah, I think that was just one developer in particular saying they weren't a fan of the idea, but I fully expect there to be some sort of reference. I personally hope it's nothing too in your face.

Picked up the lore book that recently came out and have had a little read of the history leading up to 2077. Seeing the thought put into it probably has me more excited than any of the trailers, although I'm still going to hold off playing it until I've built my new PC. The book is written from the perspective of an in-universe independent news site that's trying to push back against the pushy corporate advertising and propaganda, it's actually made me think the trailers for the game itself are very intentional in their over-the-top tone. I've noticed a couple of them seem to end with the viewer unplugging from the "feeder" before things mellow out and the dark reality sets in (the last part of that fashion trailer is very different from everything preceding it).

Either way, I'm just as curious to find out what the hell this game even is tonally as I am looking forward to playing it.

Ciri won't be in the game but I fully expect some character to make a reference to her, along the lines of: "We get all types in here, one time there was this girl who claimed she was from another world and hiding from evil elves."

That's mental, 3 weeks before release and it's delayed? Surely the game has gone to print in regards to physical copies getting ready to ship out etc.

Sounds to me there's more glitches than anticipated. Can't wait for a 20GB patch day one to fix it all :lol:

It had already gone gold. :lol: By all means though, please keep delaying it until I can buy an Ampere GPU.

No issue with the delay if it means the finished product is actually as close to finished as they can get it. Not like I'll be playing it anytime soon as this is the game that will eventually push me to get a PS5.

There was a dev thread on reddit about 2 weeks ago (confirmed as a real dev by Jason Schrier) who basically stated the game was feature complete but absolutely not in a great state, and that a day 1 patch would be required to actually play the damn thing.

Seems increasingly obvious they're having real, real problems with the last gen console versions.

Even though I’ve no plans to play it on the current generation of consoles I’m tempted to wait till the issues have been patched out, even on next gen consoles, also there will an inevitable GOTY edition that works out a bit cheaper too :shifty:

They pushed it gold with the promise of “we will fix these breaking issues by release day” and they never made it. I don’t think there’s anything to really read into it when the team is crunching from home. Of course they aren’t getting through it at the originally predicted pace. They have (a little more) freedom to take a break, be with their families, and eat when they need to. Hard to get people to half kill themselves on Zoom
