Did some exploring of some outer areas today. Also found you can do some pretty cool shots with the drone camera.

Edit: I've been playing this solidly all afternoon :dread: :toot:

The way the combat can just break out of normal exploration is great, and there's always a reward for you taking part rather than just getting sick of it and driving on by. I've unlocked enough ram to make cars explode, which has been great fun with the gangs that hang around by them.

That and timing it so cars explode on the motorway as I'm wheelying past on my bike :shifty:

The self-indulgent screenshot spree continues :datass:

Just done a mission to put a virus on a parade float that was very Deus Ex

Ad, mate, I'd buy canvas prints of your photos here, they're amazing!

It helps somewhat that the game looks incredible so it's pretty hard to take a truly gooseberry fool picture. Saying that, the colours look a lot better on my tablet, so maybe I've got my monitor set up badly. It's HDR so perhaps I need to move the brightness right down like on my tv.

Still loving throwing knives. Got one that either makes them bleed if a headshot hasn't taken them out, or sometimes adds poison. Also got a gooseberry fool hot rifle that I've almost upgraded to the top tier.

If you think it looks good now just way until you get to the DLC area, they've really stepped it up another notch in terms of the level of detail in the environment and there are some really stunning places :datass:

Yeah, I agree the new area was a step up again. I played with path tracing and the game looks unbelievable. It’s also a very good game.

I keep saying, one the best games ever played and will age very well I reckon.

Just started this again. Gonna try really hard to get into it this time. They've clearly massively streamlined the skill tree which is great.

One thing that gets me is the slang; it's so strawberry floating lame. It never works when game devs try to make their own cool gooseberry fool - just copy real street slang. "Choom" :fp:

To be fair to CDPR, isn't the slang faithful to the source material?

Yeah, I believe so.

It does feel a bit awkward to listen to at first but I think it grows on you. There's reasoning/lore behind a lot of it that is in keeping with the world and it works well.

I bought Cyberpunk Red off the back of playing this. I love reading a good tabletop RPG rulebook and would love to play Cyberpunk some day. I've only ever played D&D and Vampire: The Masquerade. Stuff like this appeals to me way more than high fantasy.

I thought this game was meant to have fixed the bugs. I've just had three in the opening main mission.

Jackie wouldn't follow me into a room so an event wouldn't trigger. Eventually he did after me walking back and forth for 5 minutes. Then it didn't recognise I'd carried the necessary thing onto the terrace so the cutscene wouldn't trigger. Then I pressed start and my Xbox crashed.

Strong beginnings.

My god this is unbelievable, it's happened again. Got to the bit where i got driven home, tried to save and it wouldn't stop with the save spinning disc. Went to rest and screen went black and nothing else happened. Had to reset the game. strawberry float me

In hindsight, I could have bought the DLC and started slowly making my way through this again while waiting for the GRcade plays Disco Elysium to get going in a few days :fp:

Finished the Phantom Liberty main quest last night, some really good content overall but a bit underwhelming as a conclusion. The final section wasn't especially interesting and it all ends on a bit of a damp squib narratively - kind of unavoidable given how it's pitched as something in the middle of an existing story which can't be changed, but still a shame given how well the Witcher 3 DLC managed to round out that story.
