PL stepped it up in terms of using path tracing and ray tracing. They really wanted to push the hardware again. The lighting is lovely. I really enjoyed PL. forces you to wait for stuff, nice variety of missions and characters.

Welcome to Dog Town! :toot:

They definitely stepped up the visuals for PL, so much more going on in the environments than in the base game

Realised I've got a handful of side missions and 7 contract missions left before starting the final main mission before Act 3 :(

The question is do I do Phantom Liberty first or save it for a revisit later in the year.

Phantom Liberty has two different endings, do the second in your replay.

I've started act 3 and the game is as open as it ever was, just has a feeling of being able to finish it soon, which is why I chose to go in to phantom liberty. I've not even finished the first mission yet, but the are has a real escape from new York feeling to it.

It's quite immersion breaking but the game has a very clear "you are entering the endgame" dialog that pops up to let you know when you're heading to the finale

I love how well the side missions and stories fit into the overall narrative and world. It's all just so well realised.

What do you people think they'll do with the location for Cyberpunk 2? They can't really drop Night City in my opinion, it's basically the main character after all. They could do a TOTK and re-use the same map, expanding it and adding more interior locations. That would be a smart move in my opinion, especially in development terms. I suppose adding additional locations you could travel to is an option but I'd be happy with them reusing Night City if it means they can get it out quicker.

I still feel like there are massive areas of the city that barely got used in any of the main story missions or side quests. You could easily build another game in the same place and have it feel very different by focusing the action in different parts of that cityscape.

Yeah, for sure. And it's such an interesting location anyway, I have no issue with them revisiting parts they already covered anyway.

Using the city height would be a great way to get more out of it. A lot of missions or hideouts are at ground level, where the ones that are high up, like the parade one, really stood out.

No reason they couldn't introduce new areas like dogtown, walled off parts of the city with new structures, underground areas. Things like that.

Plus the easy win vehicle wise is to add flying cars

If there's a tech or gameplay reason it can't work within the dense city parts, just as no fly zones and keep the flying to the outer bits.

Cyberpunk VTOL cars. Preem :datass:

GET ME OFF WORLD :datass:

Having a portion of the game be in Night City and then either a number of missions or an entire chapter be on an orbiting station ala Elysium would be very cool IMO. In Edgerunners there's always rockets blasting off into space in the background and it's an established thing that getting off world is something to aspire to, so they could easily integrate it into the story.
