They mention some features, including the lack of complete AA, being pointers to it running on 'a console.' I can't recall them name dropping the X1X specifically. I could be wrong though.

They mention it then say it’s on console, I’d be surprised if it’s on a PS4 Pro at an Xbox event but if it was it would only perform better, not a lot of latest multiplat PS4 Pro games are native 4K though if any.

I guess not.

Like I said, I think he's fine, but in a game as good as The Witcher 3, a more compelling character would have put that game over the top.

I know I'm a little late but if your a fan of the games then I recommend reading the books, they are fantastic and I think the portrayal of Geralt is spot on.

I know nothing of the books but I love Geralt, one of gamings greatest characters imo.

I mean, it seems incredibly harsh to leave their fans out of the loop like this, especially given the hype it's generated. Which is why I think they'll make the footage available for all in a few weeks. /hunch

During the fake glitch transition at the MS conference there were four files the user was chosing from. One was the CGI trailer from 2012 (arch_bullets), one was the trailer they showed this year (e3_trailer), and one was called gk_WIP. People initially thought the gk was referring to Geoff Keighley and that a Work In Progress build would be shown on his show. Didn't happen, so now people are theorising that the WIP trailer will instead be shown at Gamescom which is held in Koelnmesse... gk.

tl;dr They might debut the closed doors gameplay footage at gamescom in August.

My own wee thoughts: the last of the options, final_newfinal_1_v3 (love that filename!), is the game itself, meaning they don't plan on showing anything between gk_WIP and release. Which...might mean it's closer than people think?

Who knows?

For me this is one of those games where the less I know the better. I know the developers are great and can create fantastic worlds and I don't want it spoiled even a little.

I do the same with films where I no longer watch trailers as they just show so much now.

It's great if that's true (about Gamescom), but... August?!

Other than the 2 trailers for GoW's reboot I didn't watch or read anything. And then when I played the game it constantly blew me away, partly because of my having no idea of what I was in for, *but* I need more of 2077. That cutscene cinematic isn't enough. One well made gameplay trailer will tide me over for a good year or two.

That's only a month and a half away! If they do show it, it'd be fantastic.

EDIT: Oh I strawberry floating love this.

Watching the RPS breakdown of the closed doors demo and at around 5.40 they mention Pacifica, the real slumland of Night City. They show it on the subway map...and it's completely reddened out like some sort of disaster zone.

That's...so strawberry floating cool.

I hope you can play this in a less combat-y way as I really like the look of the game but I'm worried that the combat and gunplay will be too physically demanding/fast for me.

I can just about manage something like Fallout 3 thanks to the VATS system but something like, say, Doom would be too much dependent on fast reactions for me.

It remains to be seen if they follow up on it, but they've stated that many quests will have peaceful outcomes. Like the Witch though, I expect combat will be a large gameplay pillar.

The mention of auto aiming/homing weapons still gives me hope that I could potentially manage the gun combat if it was 100% necessary.

The way I'd play an FPS would likely involve using a single button for W, no ASD keys, mouth operated mouse for aiming/steering/primary fire and at most two other switches positioned next to my least immobile hand for jump and secondary fire - anything else is relegated to voice commands which I find a little hit & miss as my speech can occasionally be hard to understand.

I think the reason they did not release any actual game footage to the public is that they have not fully finalised what they were showing. They probably want to be sure that what people see is largely what they would get when the game is eventually released and not have people comparing the two.

Of course, from what we know, they already have a lot of the the voice acting completed, so they can't make many too many changes to the quest lines and such. I'm talking about how well it performs on consoles and such. It could be that after testing they decide they need to bump down some of the specs for Xbone and PS4 or change how they implement different solutions.

The demo at E3 was apparently "running on a PC that would make SkyNet cry."

I think there's little doubt it's going to be a GTAV type situation for consoles: one release on current gen, another with a bunch of extra features on next gen. PC will likely get one release that, knowing CDPR, will get all the next-gen enhancements for free.

Yeah it's not that bad considering the game won't be out for likely 2 years. CDProject seem to have really upped their optimisation game, Witcher 3 is by far the best looking game I'm able to run on my PC while the original looked and ran like dogshit.
