There was a 'hidden message' in the trailer (it flashed up briefly):

Do you like our latest creation? We certainly hope so! :) You may remember that we sometimes send you guys secret messages like this. it’s a great way for us to speak right to you instead of burying ourselves in corporate mumo-jump. So let’s begin!

First of all—have you noticed all the details in our teaser (yes, it’s a teaser, we’ll make a proper trailer in the future)? If you know the Cyberpunk setting, there are some things you can spot, like implants—look for the weapon hands and the real skin—corporate emblems that should look familiar, and more happy hunting!

You’re probably curious about the release date. It’s currently scheduled a way off, in 2015, but in truth, the delivery date is more like, “when it’s done.” We will release Cyberpunk to you when we’re convinced it is nothing but pure, refined, unadulterated awesome. we want it to be the most kick ass futuristic RPG ever—ok, maybe this sounds pretty bully, but it is our actual goal! You judge if we deliver it!

Ok—and you may wonder why we announced our game so early before the release. The reason is that we’re still building our dev team. So if you are a talented dude or dudette, willing to work in a really different company (gamers rule & boring corporate stuff drools!) on a super ambitious project, send us your application right now: careers@cdprojektred.com

So, you want to know what kind of game Cyberpunk 2077 will be? The short description is that it will be a story-heavy, nonlinear, open world RPG based on teh well known Cyberpunk pen & paper system and setting. Building open world games is osmething we are mastering right now, and we believe that properly joining nonlinear gameplay with excellent story telling will bring a totally new quality. Hmm. We’ll tell some more about it soon!

And that’s not all that’s new. We are about to reveal our other project, which is much closer to being completed. And yes, it will also be a fully open-world game with an intense story. You can probably guess the game we’re talking about. ;-) On the 5th of February it will all be clear.

So stay tuned, as we will have quite a lot to show and tell you soon!

We are waiting for you on our newly created forum called Afterlife—what other name could we have chosen for it? :)

Trailer did absolutely nothing for me. I look forward to seeing some actual gameplay.

Same, its pretty... thats about it, theres nothing new there.

I mean, its set in a blade runner city and you play as a Cop that hunts down cyborgs?

AD police anyone?

hmmm, I'll wait for gameplay footage, not saying that AD police set in the world of blade runner wouldn't be a bad, but I'll with hold judgement for now.

I don't get all of the hate. :?

All we had before was a title and a couple of screenshots. Now we have a (very cool) CGI teaser that shows us the sort of world we will be playing in.

Maybe towards the end of the year we will see some gameplay, but at this very early stage they aren't going to have much to show just yet.

It's got a bad case of the drawn out hype train about it.

I did like the trailer but I am sick of hearing about stuff 3 or 4 years before it's even going to get released.

Talk of this game has actually inspired me to actually pick up The Witcher II again. I think I'm actually starting to get the hang of it now, collecting ever herb I see, brewing and drinking potions before battles and I've even put some points into swordsmanship so I'm not so useless in combat. Starting to feel more like a badass monster hunter and less spending less time running away from everything. :shifty:

I've reached a point in the original Witcher game that I swear is impossible to get past without potions. However, there's no way of turning back/leaving the area, so I'm screwed. I've made it all the way through the game without having to use any, and then suddenly it's as if the game's forcing me to, with no prior warning. I guess I could re-load a previous save, but that would mean going back ages to start gathering herbs and such. Isn't worth it. :(

I was at one of the first bosses where I was supposed to get an antidote to the toxins but accidentally picked a dialogue option saying I was ready to go. Got my ass handed to me half a dozen times before I prevailed simply by frantically dodging every attack, so I eventually got lucky. Good thing I didn't have to completely drain it's HP to trigger the finishing sequence.

I think it's possible to play without the potions but you'd have to be incredibly skilled or willing to die a lot. From now on I'm just habitually taking every herb I come across and doing alchemy when able.

You know, when I first watched the trailer it was on a tiny screen but a second viewing I quite liked it. I'd even go so far to say I kind of expect it to look like that when it comes to launch

I have watched it a number of times now myself and there is quite a bit of stuff you miss the first few times, like the mark on the female cops face, missed it the first time even though it was right bloody there.

Just completed Witcher 2, god damn this game made Dragon Age 2 look like a complete joke. Real complexity, real difficulty and real choices where you don't have halos and devil horns clearly marking right from wrong. Hope Cyberpunk is similarly nuanced.

From a Witcher 3 IGN QA with Marcin Iwinski (co-founder of the CD Projekt group)...

So what’s next after this game? Can you tell us anything about Cyberpunk 2077?

People have been asking me if Cyberpunk 2077 will have multiplayer or if it will be a straight-up shooter, and I tell them to relax, because it will be a true RPG game.

We are known for storytelling, and big game worlds, and so we’re taking all what we've learnt from previous three Witcher games, as well as the open-world aspect, and applying it to Cyberpunk 2077. So yes, it is an all-out RPG game, but we're looking at having a lot of new gameplay elements that I cannot talk about yet. One thing I can say for sure is that it is definitely NOT a multiplayer shooter.

Sounds good. Nice to hear some kind of 'news' on this as well. Along with The Witcher 3, this is only game I'm looking forward to.

It seems like it has been ages since I have heard anything about this game what so ever. Maybe Bethesda have the right approach; only announcing about six months before release. I suppose I can take comfort in knowing that The Witcher 3 is only around the corner.

Don't expect to hear anything on this until 2017

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/05/27/ ... until-2017

As much as I appreciate CD Project not rushing this game, it's another infuriating example of a developer showing a game off way too early.
