That magazine cover is horrible, but they have to stand out on the shelf and it'll certainly do that.

That Edge cover is horrendous.

!HYPE!

Cannot wait for this, although I probably will need to do a PC upgrade before it does finally arrive.

Hopefully it launches with PS5 so we can all enjoy it in the future of gaming with our new Sony Emperor Overlords 8-)

I’ve not been following this but is there any chance it won’t make current gen?

Possibly but I believe they demo'd it on Xbox One X or at least representative of.

EDIT: It's deffo current gen:
It’s running on a high-spec PC. It’s the next generation of our own proprietary engine – and speaking frankly, we’re still working on the rendering so I hope we can get more [out of it]. The current gen consoles are really powerful, especially talking about Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. We’ll do our best to maximise for those, but it’s too early to say exactly what we can achieve – and the PC version will always be above that, because it’s constantly upgraded and improved in terms of the hardware we can gain access to. But it should look great on current consoles.

I only got my PC last year, but I'm already thinking about what I'll need to upgrade to get this running nicely in 4K. Probably need to bump up the graphics card to one of the newer Geforce cards. As a bonus it will free up my current 1080 to put into another PC build.

Is it going to be more demanding than The Witcher 3? That runs great on current consoles imo

Thanks Photek, I won't be moving onto nextgen for awhile thanks to my current gen backlog so this is good news

Almost certainly.

That said, they released the specs of the PC they were running the gameplay walkthrough on last E3 and it's all current gen stuff:

Processor: Intel Core i7 8700K at 3.70GHz
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z370-I Gaming
Memory: GSkill Ripjaws 5, 2x16GB 3000MHz CL15
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
Storage: Samsung 960 Pro 512 GB M.2 PCIe
Power Supply: Corsair SF600 600W

If I can get 30-40fps at 1440p with my 1070, on or around high quality, I'll be happy.

I think at most we'll see a version running on current gen machines and an upgraded version with maybe next gen specific upgrades for things that require really heavy AI or physics but I honestly can't see them going next gen only purely because of the sales they'd lose to people who just won't upgrade for some time.

I expect the current-gen (base consoles) version to run like ass.

Providing PS5 is backwards compatibly I'll be picking one up at launch and, hopefully, the PS5 version will be out alongside it.
