Alpha Protocol gets many points for letting you shorcut all conversations by immediately punching people in the face

Some of them yes. The big decisions are basically all "pick who to save" binary choices, aren't they?

Who sorry? Telltale?

Not really even in the early games lots affected people's opinions of you. (Although some are who lives/who dies)

They got much better as they went on at disguising the impact...but others still surpassed them in their own genre.

Yes Telltale, there are plenty of "x will remember that." but when it comes to the actual branching decisions like who lives and dies, those all seem to be obvious binary choices.

Early on you're absolutely right. But they got better.

Batman 2 and TWAU did much better branching story (Batman 2 final episode was 2 completely distinct variants based on, what felt like, a culmination of you choices relative to one character)

GAME selling the collector's edition for £250. :dread: Witcher 3's CE had better contents from what I can tell and I got it for £95!

I really hope the art book gets sold separately.

What do you even get in the collector's edition? I've never really been into buying special editions of stuff, they always seen ridiculously expensive and the game itself is generally the only thing I'm interested in.

I had a friend who always used to buy these things - I remember him getting stuff like Halo 3 with a massive model of Chief's head and the version of COD that came with a real pair of night vision goggles!

I wouldn't have anywhere to put all this stuff!

The whole concept of a collector's edition is stupid - it's not like it's a rare thing, it's just expensive, that's literally the only thing that gives it any perceived "extra" value. If there were only 1,000 of them available then sure, but literally any man and his dog could order a collector's edition and they'd keep making all this tat until the orders stopped.

I would rather it that way round that artificial scarcity preventing me getting something I want

I bought one special edition ever: the BioShock one with the shite Bouncer statue. As far as I remember that was the first SE with a statue too.

Never again.

Got that one too. The paint quality :fp:

The Bioshock 2 one was really nice though. Big art book and and the soundtrack on vinyl.

I too had that incredibly poorly painted Big Daddy or whatever it was called.

These special editions are really getting out of hand, they used to be something like $30 more than the standard one, and now they're asking for over double the price?

Haven't seen any real incentive to pre-order. Will definitely buy it on release though, assuming no unexpected problems or bugs. The more expensive editions don't seem to offer much beyond the base game beyond a bunch of tat.

https://www.cyberpunk.net/en/news/29533 ... nouncement.

Next week we’re going to host a stream during which we’ll unveil a 15-minute edit of what we’ve been showing to journalists and gamers here at gamescom, and then interview devs from the studio for additional information on what you just saw. Expect a lot of insight into the thought process behind creative decisions, information about Pacifica—one of the districts of Night City—and TONS of stuff on playstyles you’ll be able to adopt when you launch Cyberpunk 2077 next year.

August 30th, 8PM CEST / 7PM UTC/GMT

Tasty.

Whaaaaa.....

That's disappointing. I expected the whole 45 minute presentation like last year. Better than nothing but still...
