And here's my OP hacking in action:

https://stadia.google.com/capture/0a924 ... a59e647382

I can basically clear out entire missions like that now. I'm playing on hard btw.

I love the little bug with the last guy where it was like he suddenly remembered he was supposed to be dead, then just faceplanted

Haha yep that happens a lot - he was originally blinded so was going about being blinded, then when that wore off he's all "okay, what's next on my status list? Oh it's death - bye!"

Also legendary Ping let's you quick hack people through walls. I am even more OP now.

Quickhacks seem totally OP.

They are. Once you get the Legendary ones, sitting 100m away from any fight and constantly suiciding all enemies is a more than viable option. BUT, I like it. For once the "play your way" thing actually seems to be true.

In other news, I just booted up RDR2 to see how my new SSD affects load times (more than halves them, as it turns out) and I accidentally hit kick while sat on my horse making Arthur swipe his leg at nothing. A passerby stopped, said "Crazy fool!" and kept watching until I stopped kicking, when he rode away saying "People these days."

Needless to say I turned it off quickly lest my already low opinion of CP's open world be destroyed entirely.

I watched a YouTube video earlier comparing all the attention to detail across a variety of Rockstar open world games and those guys really are just the masters of the genre, other games just don't even come close, including Witcher 3.

I've not played any R* games since GTAIV so I've not really got recent experience of their games to compare it to but I can say for sure that Witcher 3 definitely had a more dynamic and reactive world than this does and that's just a crazy situation to be in

Did the Corpo lifepath follow-up mission recently and that was truly, truly pathetic.

Without going into spoilers it was labelled as a full side mission but the content there was less than a fixer gig, and really highlighted how utterly half baked the lifepaths are. Like I say I chose Corpo and as soon as the intro was done (about 30 minutes of content, if that) it feels like the game immediately dismissed it.

Yeah you get a few dialogue choices but they never gel as character moments and are just there to prop up the illusion of choice. It seems very clear the 'proper' lifepath is Nomad given the way V is written as an outcast or newcomer to the city, despite being a long term NC resident in the Corpo intro, and the way the story unfolds in general.

I also picked Corpo (as I thought it would be cool be a grizzled vet that knew how it all worked) and feel the same. Really highlights how all player "choices" are just complete illusions. And barely even illusions to be honest as its so blatant they don't matter.

Also did that mission and laughed at how terrible it was.

Move a dumpster. Immediately shoot a guy in the face. The end.

I hit the point of no return yesterday so will finish off the decent side missions and get this finished. Hopefully my quick hack build doesn't strawberry float me over with whatever the final boss is. There's already been a couple of scripted encounters where they're just like "lol no you can't use your good hacks on this guy coz then it would be too easy"

A comprehensive breakdown of the flaws of the game beyond just the bugs.

It's long (I had it on x2 speed) but it really nails how CP is less next gen than

um...

...Driver 1 on the PSX?

Yeah.

It's very "Youtuber" but he highlights a lot of stuff I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else: the audio and poor UI specifically.

But genuinely I do think I'm going to do the same, I can't say as I've ever put on a bit of higher rated gear and actually felt any tangible benefit from it.

Classic edgerunner:

Corpo netrunner chic:

I ride a bike everywhere and use 3rd person camera for that so I see a fair amount of the character that way, but other than that visibility of your character is pretty fleeting.

If the way you look actually had any tangible effect on interactions or quests it would have been good

Aaaaand done. 60 hours with all the meaty side quests done.

Loved the story and felt very satisfied with the first ending I got. Went back and made the other choice to see how that panned out and it also seemed decent but I am happier with my original choice.

Final thoughts - it's a solid 7/10 game. I feel a bit sorry for the writers who delivered an excellent story that's just let down by bland gameplay and game design.

Also really enjoyed Keanu's constant presence throughout the game, but can see why others would find that annoying.

Finally I leave you with a screen grab from one of the endings. I will spoiler it although it doesn't spoil anything really - the glitched subtitles at the bottom (from a line that was said 30 minutes prior) made me chortle.

Just watched this and I agree completely. I didn't follow any of the pre-release stuff but it is infuriating how much they promised that was just not there at all.

Also I didn't go the body/shooting route but how on earth did they miss that pointless perk for Human shields when you can't even take human shields!
