I haven't received the refund for my digital PS4 copy yet. Looking online, it seems that very few people have - seemingly only folk that have got through to Sony customer services on the phone rather than via the online method. It'd be neat if they at least sent an email acknowledging the refund requests. Just gotta sit tight, I guess.

I don't want to hate on Keanu, but f***ing hell, our original Johnny was way cooler and sounded like a maniac. Think Foltest on crack. I don't appreciate his acting either, but he's a very nice man. Walked up to us personally to greet us on the first day and took time to personally thank us one by one when they wrapped up recording.

Sounds like Keanu to be fair.

Spent about 45 minutes on this today when I should have been working :shifty: and spent it wandering the streets finding those tarot images, just lovely soaking in the atmosphere and seeing new areas that I know I'll get to explore properly the further into the game I get.

Probably felt the need to comment as the post emphasises how refunds are supposedly a net positive for the devs.

I'm sure there is cut content of some kind but that's no different from any game.

Yeah super confusing way points and terrible level design. Plus the reward I got for it I never touched once as I had a way better one of those already.

My main issue with the Delamain HQ mission was the horrible lighting. Really hammered home how useful either a torch or a night vision implant would have been useful.

Yeah, I really liked the idea of the level, but the execution was disappointing. I also had a major bug at the end.

Once I completed it i went back to the garage and my prize car just flipped over and exploded in front of me, with the HUD telling me to enter the burning wreckage.

Yeah I think the whole quest line with Delamain had scope to be really interesting but the execution was what let it down, with the HQ probably being the low point sadly.

It was another situation where it felt like so much scope for it to have been designed from a deeper RPG or immersive sim perspective. Why could I not solve this problem in different ways, why did I have to follow the awful pre-programmed route through the HQ, why was there no scope for me to bring my V's particular skillset to solving this problem?

Again, I cannot believe they thought doing a Cake is the Lie bit in 2020 was a good idea. In fact, one of my problems with the game as a whole is its over reliance on pop culture references. Every strawberry floating mission title is a reference to a song or movie, and the side gig texts are littered with the stuff. It adds nothing and just feels super cheap.

Agree on the delamain HQ mission. Terrible.

I decided to finish this last night and run through a number of the endings. Some of them are terrible, 2 of them seem alright but ultimately unsatisfactory.

A cool game, looks awesome, really enjoyable, and I’ll be back in 6 months for another run.

So is this another game where you basically get to push a different button at the conclusion to see which ending you get? :dread:

Spoilers around this.

Mostly. There's a point where you get multiple choices. From what I hear some choices might be blocked off if you've not done enough side missions. Then the last mission for each choice is different, and takes a few hours each time. Then each of these have a simple dialogue choice to choose between another two branches to determine what ending you get.

More specifically:

You choose which of 3 last missions (or kill yourself). Each of these have 2 endings - so 6 in total. There's also apparently a secret ending, but I've not looked too deeply into it, I've had my fill so far.

Had a quick skim read of that whilst trying to filter out anything too spoilery, sounds slightly better than I feared but still essentially bobbins.

You know what would be nice RPG makers? If my actions and decisions throughout the game are what shaped the ending and not some arbitrary "Choose ending A, B, or C" dialog choice 5 minutes from the end! :x

It’s much more than that. There are sequences to play out. There are cool and good points to each. The better ones I think will be the ones people will lean too.

Based on what TNAG is saying above it still sounds poor IMO.

Endings should be the culmination of a journey and reflect on what has occurred throughout the game overall, not just some late game fork in the road where you choose how the final moments play out.

Obviously I'll reserve any real judgement until I've actually played it but I'm still a bit disappointed.

EDIT: Especially considering this is coming from CDPR, the developer who let us play out a radically different second act to The Witcher 2 based on the players actions and choices.

And before anyone who knows how much I fap over Deus Ex decides to bring that games ending up - I am aware that they made exactly this same mistake as well. But I can forgive that because it's a brilliant game otherwise and it was 20 years ago!

I think only 1 of them does this (and was the one I got by picking what I wanted on my first play though). I think this will be the events most get, unless you rush through the main quests. It then spits you out right before the ‘point of no return’ to allow you other choices.
