Those socks are the kind they have in Japan, I can tell from seeing a few in my time.

I bought the 18" version of this last January:

I have lots of countryside around me, so plenty of places to go off-road and get muddy...

"Say, that's a nice bike!" Stevo.

I still have a Hybrid thing which I am going to ruin in our local countryside, but I have a problem with testing the Giant Defy 2 (like so many people have recommended). No bugger sells 'em anywhere near me - which is a bloomin nightmare.

Aye that's the one dude, I think I've signed up and posted.

I've got a Trek mountain bike, and a Saracen road bike. It's been a while since I've done a serious distance on either though.

There was a time, maybe four or five years ago, when every spare dollar I had went on something bike related. There's just so much stuff there to tempt you.

Aye, similarly good sites. Think I started using Chain Reaction as it was a few quid cheaper for the things I wanted.

How can you tell it's an Asian?

How can you tell for certain it's even a girl :?

It's a girls' bike (I didn't know there was a difference until last summer, I just thought the ladies bikes being advertised had a different saddle, and were pink or something :fp: )

Being a lanky git I need a bike with a 58.5cm frame so I think I'm going for a Giant Defy 2 at £800. http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-GB/bik ... 861/38959/

Thing is, it's a lot of dosh for something I know nothing about. Does anyone else do this cycling thing? And who are Giant?

I have a Giant bike, Paid about £500 for it but went with the cycle to work scheme so it should have been £700. They are brilliant bikes

Although I suspect bumping this won't bring it back on topic, the Tour of Britain route has been released:

Nowhere near me this year, ah well.

Rising this topic from the dead once more.

This is my current bike at the moment but looking to do more off road stuff. Not so much downhill but through forests and shizniz. Now, it's a hybrid but if I was to get some cyclo cross/mountain tyres would I have any concerns to worry about?

Sure, it's not ideal but could in reality do the job?
