September Direct Trailer

Gamescom Gameplay Footage

Release date 13th September 2019, demo. out now.

I couldn’t see a thread, so I made one. This is one of the games I’m most excited for at the moment, but also one of those I’m most worried about. I hope to get around to trying the demo. soon. Has anybody had a crack? Any good?

Despite not really being into games like this I tried the demo last night and unsurprisingly couldn't get on with it. Looked nice enough though, so if you're a fan of the genre I'm sure you'd love it.

Going to try the demo out tonight, never owned an Armored Core game and only played one very briefly, so it's all new to me.

Gave it a quick go. Didn’t have a huge idea what was going on. Looks a fairly well realised world and concept but no gyro controls could be a killer for me.

Does it really need gyro controls since it does that auto lock on thing anyway?

As someone who can’t aim, that last bit is great news!

Love the visuals on this, very striking! Not sure it's my genre but I'll try it out at some point.

Tried the demo yesterday and whilst the controls took me a little while to get use to, the game was fun and shows a lot of promise. The frame rate is a bit iffy as well.

It's given me some food for thought, that's for sure.

Customisation for both your mech and pilot are quite cool and reasonably deep. Presentation wise, the art style grew on me. The anime inspired animation is also suberb and, although I'm not keen on the side characters or their dialogue, I accept that its par for the course with this type of game.

Put together a 5 minute showcase video, in case anyone is interested:

Like most of you I'm undecided, but on the whole it shows quite a bit of promise.

It's alright, I very much enjoy customising my mech which seems to be quite deep and statful, but the actual combat is... eh. Movement isn't very sleek, the guns don't have much weight to them, dodging isn't fun, and the sword is a single heavy attack rather than letting you combo or anything. I'm not a fan of the soft lock on either, I'd rather have the ability to hard lock and strafe/circle.

It's still tempting and I enjoyed it, but I wish it played with more flow.

Metroid Prime way the standard for lock-on mechanics really, everybody should follow their example.

I also gave this a go and enjoyed it well enough, but to be honest I’m a sucker for anything with flying robots. The gun felt a bit piddly, but a little bit of HD Rumble ought to sort that out. Here’s hoping there’s still time to add that.

The demo is a bit rough, but it's early in development and they said about that. They want any and all feedback.

It's not that early, they've said it'll have a summer release date.

I can see it getting delayed though

Has anyone tried the new prologue demo? Saves carry across to the full game. They've fixed a lot of the complaints with the previous demo since they released that questionaire (frame rate, controls, lock-on etc) and it definitely played a hell of a lot better now. Shame it's releasing next week since it feels like it's basically being sent to die.

Downloaded the new demo as I've heard the game has improved a lot and thankfully it has, the game is much more enjoyable and easier to control. Hopefully the reviews are positive.
