I take your point though DML, I'm just a bit tired of panel shows that rotate the same comedians and z-listers, was hoping this would be a bit more cerebral.

Sure, but thats what Dave has access to. I'd give it a chance at least, I don't want gaming to only be able to be on TV to critique it, I want it on TV as a fully appeciated medium full stop.

I do think its a bit ridiculous in this day and age that someone like Disney can risk hundreds of millions on a movie entirely based on video games in Wreck-It-Ralph, but a two bob TV commissioner struggles to back a gaming show. The lack of gaming on TV is utterly astonishing and wrong, I'm glad somehow the balance is being addressed even if its not the Gamesmaster reboot some may want.

I'm not really arsed about there being any game stuff on TV. I'd rather spend what little free time I have actually playing the games, rather than watching TV shows about them. But I realise (sadly) that not everyone is like me.

If you are not arsed about gaming on TV, then why are you complaining about a gaming TV show in a thread dedicated to that gaming TV show? ;)

I am not sure this show will work, but I will give it a go. I like Dara and think a “comedy panel show” could work. As long as it is funny and entertaining then I don’t really care if they are not giving us information on the number of polygons.

David James?

This the same David James who blamed the gaffes in his early career on 'PlayStation addiction'?

Missed opportunity by not having Vernon "I'm so addicted to games" Kay on there. :fp:

It was better than I expected, I'll give it that. Still a bit cringey, but as long as the guests give good bantz it could be ok.

I think they could do with cutting the bit where they show the set spinning round.

Other than that not bad, I guess each episode will probably live and die on what games they choose to play and who they get on to play them (assuming they'll have different 'celebs' for each episode).

I think there is a massive hole in the market for an E-sports mixed with reviews show. I hate that gaming is still seen as childish or 'o remember when I was 10' shite.

I long for a methodical gaming show.

15 minutes in and this is surprisingly decent even with the slight cheese.

Bit further in now and they need to calm down a little bit. It's like they've all been overdosing on sweets and pop before filming.

I don't know about that really. What exactly would the E-Sports part of the show be? You can stream tournaments online if you want to watch them, I don't think that people who are really into it would bother and people who aren't into it I don't think care enough to watch a show about it.

I do think there is space for a more serious show that covers games though, features and reviews type of thing, played more or less straight with someone like Charlie Brooker to host.
