I'm starting to watch the netflix series Dark and I was wondering if anyone else has as I have a slight problem.

The story seems like it might be intriguing and it has good rating on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes but all the characters are a complete bunch of banana splits :slol: .
I'm on episode 3 where there's a missing kid looking for his parents but everyone just tells him to get strawberry floating lost and treats him like gooseberry fool and everyone treats everyone like gooseberry fool as well it's really rather odd.

I know the show is set in Germany but I didn't realise that means everyone has to be utter banana splits at all times and the police seem to be about as useful as a wet fart as they're looking for missing children and find a strange door leading into a nuclear power station and the station manager somehow has the power to tell the police to go away and stopped them getting a search warrant as well.

I love time travel shows but I want everyone in this show to be horribly murdered :capnscotty: .

I've only seen the first series, but I really enjoyed it. Stick with it.

Also make sure you're watching it in German with subtitles as the English dub is unwatchable imo.

I'm watching it with dubbing and it turns everyone into super bitchy american schoolkids even if the character is 60  .

Seriously, it's the worst dubbing I've ever encountered  .

Yeah the dub is interminable.

Started watching the second season and, as is always the way with these rather complex series, I've forgotten basically everything from the first season.

I pretty much watch all foreign language shows in their original language with subtitles as the dubbing is nearly always terrible.

Really enjoyed the first series. Looking forward to the new one, just as soon as I've caught up with everything else I'm supposed to be watching at the moment.

This is what is putting me off. I can't remember anything that happened in it, despite really enjoying the show.

I just started watching episode 4 with the German language and subtitles and for some unknown reason they don't all sound like they're in some horrific US teen drama :slol: .
Maybe I can start taking it seriously now without thinking they're all called Brad.

I kinda went into it blind. I was really surprised with where it ended up.

I'm now on episode 6 and strawberry floating finally they mention time travel.
5 episodes of constant shagging and people wanting to shag and we we finally get to the time travel which is the reason I started watching this show.

I think TV producers need to be told that what people want is less shagging and more awesome timey whimey, wibbly wobbly, time travel  .

I binged up to season 2 and finished that. It's pretty good but it's a bit of a sigh that it just gets more complicated and start to stop bothering to understand the inevitable theoretical time conflicts etc.

Also a lot of incest and at one point there's like 4 versions of the same guy which makes very little sense. Will probably watch season 3 though, I think they may have pushed it just a little too far.

Just finished series 2.

Barely able to keep track of who is who or what the strawberry float is going on in general, but it's a fantastic spectacle.

Quite concerned with one of the reveals at the end, that it's going to push it in a direction of even further complexity and make it even harder to follow, but I'll certainly be there for series 3.

I gave up on this a few eps in to s2. I liked the first series but the second just became too complicated. It doesn't help that none of the characters are remotely memorable, so keeping track of who is who is a strawberry floating chore.

Because then we have shows about people shagging cave men or Hitler.

Also 50% of all shows should be set in space.

I'm fairly confident because I can see the future that beginning of season 3 will be the pivot point where it just gets ridiculous, I agree.
