For seriously not trolling - will the PC version need an update to run like that then? I'm erring on getting a new PC over a PS4 with the only drawback being Bloodbourne.

RE:DS1. The previous talk in this thread had me so scarred of Blighttown that I avoided it until so late. I'm now level 40 and I owned everything there with no special rings or "spider shield". I didn't even use much pyromancy and when I got to the boss my Level 10 Claymore chopped her up in one swing*

*(very exaggeration but still)

Blighttown wasn't that difficult. It just mixed poor frame-rates, with a twisty turny maze-like upper section with lots of ledges you can fall down and then at the bottom a near-constant Poison status effect. How hard you find it is really down to your level of poison resistance (I had a good robe set that increased it). But enemy wise there's nothing terribly difficult except perhaps the big guys just outside Quelaags Domain, who are easy enough if you draw them out one at a time.

For me the hardest section was probably Anor Londo (Lots of hard hitting enemies) but it's also probably my favourite location in the game. Sadly I felt that every area after retrieving the Lordvessel was a bit disappointing. They all lacked the grandness of Anor Londo, the traps of Sen's Fortress or the atmosphere of New Londo Ruins.

Yeah I got poisoned a lot running around everywhere at the bottom but had a whole bunch of moss cures from Darkroot Garden so even that wasn't so bad. Those screaming humanoid vampire things were so much fun to swordfight... when they weren't eating the crap out of me. The first time I got grabbed, watching my health go down: :dread:

Looking forward to Anor Londo, hard-hitting enemies were my favourite to decimate in DS2 :datass:

It's £17.89 at cdkeys.com. Like the web site on Facebook for an extra 5% off that price.

Why did Bandai Namco Games and FromSoftware choose to produce Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin?

We wanted to give the fans an opportunity to participate again, this time in an even deeper experience in the Dark Souls II universe. With that goal in mind, in Scholar of the First Sin, we created not just a mere all-in-one package, but a completely new Dark Souls II experience.

We also wanted an opportunity to implement a multitude of features made possible now with the new generation of hardware on the market. We want users on these new platforms to be able to experience Dark Souls II, as well as all the advanced features we are now able to implement.

When will Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin be available?

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 digitally and at retailers on April 7th, 2015. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin will be available on Steam on April 1st, 2015 at 3:00 PM PST.

I’ve never played any Dark Souls games before, is this a good time to jump in?

Yes. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is the most complete version of Dark Souls II and will deliver an experiencing including all of the DLC content.

What is the difference between Dark Souls II, along with all of the Lost Crowns DLC and Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin?

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is a “Director’s Cut” of all Dark Souls II content that includes additional features. Content from all DLC packs is included along with the original game. The DirectX11, Xbox One, and PS4 versions of the game will also include:

New enemy placement, map shortcuts, and gameplay design.
Graphics, sound, and performance upgrade.
New weapons and armor for players to experiment with.
New NPC invading player’s world.
Max online players up from 4 to 6.
It is a fresh new experience that even grizzled veterans will find surprising and challenging!

What about the other content that I heard about? Additional Story NPC and elements, new item descriptions, improved online matching, improved game mechanic balance, etc.?

That content has already been made available via a free update to all current Dark Souls II owners in February. Visit Facebook.com/DarkSouls to read the full list of improvements!

If my computer cannot run DirectX11 and I already own Dark Souls II along with the DLC on Steam, is there any reason for me to purchase Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin?

If you own Dark Souls II and the DLC on Steam, the content update in February has already upgraded you to the Scholar of the First Sin experience for DirectX9!

With the DirectX9 and DirectX11 version launching, how do I know what version I am buying?

Two separate Steam Store pages will exist for these different versions. All relevant information and links for the other page will be present. Please read carefully and make sure you understand which version you’re looking at before buying and let us know if you have any questions!

If I buy the DirectX9 version of the game now, and upgrade my computer next year, is there a way for me to obtain the DirectX11 version of the game without buying it over again?

If you purchase the DirectX9 version of the Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin now, you will be able to upgrade to the DirectX11 version of the game through the upgrade path highlighted above. ($29.99 for existing game owners, $19.99 for existing game and DLC owners)

I’ve heard that players with the DirectX9, Xbox 360, and PS3 versions of the game cannot play with owners of the DirectX11, Xbox One, and PS4 versions of the game. Is that true?

Yes. The difference in the DirectX11, Xbox One, and PS4 versions of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin pertaining to where enemies spawn, items are located, and other environmental differences will not allow players running newer hardware versions to connect and interact with players experiencing the game on older hardware running DirectX9, Xbox 360, and PS3.

Moar Souls.

I'm looking forward to this, not least to take away some of the jelly feeling of not having Bloodborne. I hope X1 version is ok, there is literally no footage or screenshots of it anywhere. :dread:

So does that mean £19.99 then for me as a DS2 + Season Pass owner? Or a better £14.99-like translation?

Is it your first Souls game? I am tempted to pick it up once I finished Bloodbourne, though I really should play the original DS first as this is supposedly markedly inferior?

EDIT - You should just buy a PS4 and Bloodborne anyway, mind.

I'd recommend playing Demon's and then Dark 1 because the former has a similar structure to Bloodborne. While I prefer Dark 1 because of the open world, the inability to warp may make things daunting.

Nope, played Dark Souls 1 to death, literally but never played a souls game at 60fps.

I'm not spending €460 for one game. Dark Souls 2 you can warp to different Fire places as far as I can tell.
