Only dropped in for a short spell but having not watched much of Jawa's adventures for a week or so it's clear that he has improved a lot!

Good work Jawa! :toot:

Hey, thanks, TLG! I didn't notice you in the chat - you're welcome to join in with it but, if you just prefer to watch, that's all fine, too :-) .

Good luck, man. If you need a tip, IIRC I downed him by climbing the tower and then doing a diving attack (R1), before running away and then repeating.

Thanks a lot, guys  . It was a really cool session as I managed to get past a few stages that I thought would be blockers for quite some time. I even worked out how to identify the mimics :o .

It's ace to see that quite a few GR folk are playing and watching this game at present; it's the GRcade Summer of Souls :toot: .

I tend to be doing other things whilst wathcing so can't get involved most of the time. Will say Hi next time I'm on.

As for Capra, I did exactly that tonight and took him out :)

Nicely played tonight. I thought you'd nailed that section on your first try, so unlucky.

Hey, that'd be cool, TLG.

Great play! Capra can be tricky; it took me a few goes to get the "climb / hit / run back" cycle going!

So I took another swing at Kalameet, or should I say Kala-beat! :datass:

He was a tough one, probably took the most goes of any boss for a long while. Nice feeling when he went down though.

So as far as I can tell all I have left beyond going for the final area is the painted world. I'm assuming that's somewhere in Anor Londo?

My main memory of Kalameet is that move he does that makes the horrible high-pitched noise that actually hurts my ears.

Yeah that one was annoying! :dread:

It seems to put some orange icon above your head for a while after he's done it as well, wasn't sure what that was indicating?

I have to confess that I've not been looking too closely at your updates these past few days, Jenuall, because I want to avoid spoilers for my own journey! It's cool that we're both exploring Londo :-) . Have you established how to identify the mimics?

As much as I'm enjoying (enduring!) the gameplay of Souls, a key factor for the game taking over my thoughts is the wonderful design and appearance of the environments. I'm hugely enjoying exploring the varied areas; dark dungeons, narrow stairways, breathtaking architecture and sunlit vistas all combine to become a treat for the eyes. The sense of connectivity is terrific, too; I love discovering links and shortcuts between the zones.

It feels like a place of substance... a place that could exist.

Yup. I'm a fan of Dark Souls 2 myself but that's definitely something that isn't true of the sequel. The third game is slightly better but still nowhere near the original. I reckon I could still make my way around the first game no problems and I haven't played it in ages. The level design is tremendous.

EDIT - late game notwithstanding, obvs.
