I got the black knight sword on my first playthrough in the undead burg and have stuck with it.

That's some really good defensive playing Jawa, I'm impressed! You've totally got the hang of targeting single enemies, using the camera properly to focus on your attacks, and aggro-ing enemies into chock points to take on individual enemies or getting multiple hits through multiple enemies. Seems like a stragegy that's working for you, it's all about having your own strats, keep it up!

I may dive in again this evening but not sure how to spend my night yet! I played 6 hours straight yesterday grinding in the Burg :shifty: and had terrible cramps in my right hand so may not be the best idea.

I think I summed help either online or Solaire when I first beat the Gargoyles, but they'll be up next on this playthrough. I might just use this save to get back up scratch again and then finally complete the game, so I can move onto DS1 and 3 before they are both too old to remember.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Souls addiction is a thing and, here in GR, we're embracing it  .

I also got the Black Knight Sword after killing my first Knight, and it lasted me through the entire game, NG+ and half of NG++. It's a beast.

Pump all your twinkling titanite into the Black Knight Sword. You will not regret it.

Once I had the stats to wield it I don’t think I used anything other than the Black Knight Sword. I was still using it in NG+ and beyond.

Couldn't work out where to go after the gargoyles so had to look it up, so many paths opening up now but couldn't progress.

I plan to start at 14:15(UK). The show will involve around two hours of fighting the Capra  .

Well tbf Hypes has the mega weapon and also once you learn how to deal with the utter shiteness of the fight it is actually pretty easy.

The BKS is cool but I'm not really a fan of the 2H strong attacks compared to the Zweihander

Ran through some sewers and made my way back to Firelink.
Freed a magic guy. Guess I need to start paying attention to magic and get myself some poison protection

Oh, man, that was a fun session!

I was lucky to have quite a crowd online who gave me wee tips now and again... and I finally defeated the Capra Demon! :toot: . I was sweating a bit at the end of it  . We then went and explored a whole new area underground; it was awesome fun. And we bumped into the next boss ("Gaping" something :dread: ). Who proceeded to stomp me a few times.

I feel like I'm beginning to understand just what a great game this is!

Yeah some great progress for you there. Depths is an intersting area with lots of wee parts that loop back on each other.

Gaping Dragon isn't too hard. Just need to keep your distance when it moves and heal when you've got some space between you.

I would suggest using the souls in your inventory to level up your Dex stat to 18 so you can use the BKS. It does good damage and will help with the boss. Alternative you could go human, kindle the bonfire and summon Solaire to help you.

Gaping Dragon  has a video game monster design been bettered? What depraved mind thought of that?
