My second go I messed up completely as I was faffing about with shields trying to see what would block their magic attacks best but mullered them on my third go. :datass:

When was this supposed to get hard? :P

Think that's all the souls I need, onward to the Lord vessel!

What level are you? They're meant to be tough - but a lot can depend on what moves they use. If you can keep them under control it's pretty easy.

Are you going to do the DLC?

Not sure exactly what level I am - somewhere in the 80s I think?

To be fair I can see how they could easily be a nightmare - especially when several of them start appearing at once. I'm not sure what the trigger is for that, whether it's time based or when overall health reaches a certain point? I just tried to be as efficient as possible - I figured the quicker I take each one down the fewer chances they would have to catch me from behind or the sides

I've upgraded the gooseberry fool out of most of the gear my guy is wearing now as well, I think pretty much everything is either +5 or above so that probably helps. After learning from Karl about upgrading shields to improve stability I think that has helped a lot as well - I could take a couple of hits from their swiping attack without losing too much health or stamina!

EDIT: Hadn't even thought about the DLC, I'm assuming that's just built into the world somewhere? Or does it unlock once you finish the base game?

Time

The DLC is before end of the base game (beating last boss sends you back to start NG+ IIRC).

It's...a little convoluted to unlock (there might be a spoiler for a side area I'm not sure you've gone to here)

Ah okay, I know there are still a few places that I haven't fully explored. I'm planning to head back to some of these now that I've bested the Kings. I'll avoid reading that link unless I get really lost!

There are a couple of those Titanite Demons that I've left around as well that I need to go back and kill off as well so that's another incentive to keep exploring.

If you did that one last then they are probably pretty easy. It's another damage check fight so if you can output enough it gets much easier. Remember hating this fight for a number of reasons. The blackness makes judging distances practically impossible. One of the magic attacks will hit you 99% of the time, it can go past you and still turn around and get you. And the trek from the bonfire was stupidly long which just made the fact it was mainly down to having better stats all the more annoying.

Yeah. It's not at all obvious Jenny (and it's one of the simple DLC access routes in the series)

Yeah the magic attack homing in on you from ridiculous angles was a bit annoying - only got me once like that but I would have got massively pissed off if I had to keep repeating the fight and it happened lots!

Oh the trip from the bonfire was the worst.
It doesn't help that I haven't restored the bonfire at Firelink so I was having to start from a random bonfire (I was at Anor Londo as I had fully kindled that one) and then warp to Firelink, then run all the way to the Abyss!

Fair enough - I'll give myself a bit of a chance at finding it unaided before giving up and reading the solution!

Do you read item descriptions at all?

(FOR TWA NOT JENNUAL)

Does the Golem in Sens appear even if you've not met Dusk yet?
He might have the broken pendant already if so

Yeah not fun, glad I only had to do it a few times! I did wonder if there was another option of coming through the Valley of Drakes, but that felt like it would be slow as well!

I assumed the item you get from using the Black Eye Ord and killing that dude is what lets you revive the fire keeper and restore Firelink, but I wanted that tasty Estus upgrade more!

Why not use the Valley of Drakes bonfire? You can sprint past everything.

Glad to know I'm making consistent choices with this and killing of Solaire! :slol:

Yeah see above. I thought about this and would have gone for that if I had to repeat it more times I think!
