During the stream earlier, the question cropped up "How long have you played Dark Souls for, jawa?".

Looking at my YouTube channel, I have around 30 hours of footage on there... but that is since the Cathedral area - before then, I didn't know how to export videos to YouTube. I reckon I must have taken at least 10 hours to get to that point. Additionally, I didn't upload two more recent sessions; a "Two Gargoyles" one of about about 90 minutes, and a sesson of around 90 minutes the other day (in which I didn't really make progress!).

So, in total, I reckon around 44 hours so far. It has been fantastic and infuriating and astounding and frustrating  :toot: .

It tells you your playtime form the load game menu.

... :o ... . Thanks, Mafro - I've just had a look... I've never used the Load menu before; I always use "Continue"!

So, my time so far is higher that I'd thought - 54 hours :-) .

Good perseverance Jawa - lets face it nobody sails through this thing in their first go!

Had another swing at Artorias tonight:
Got so bloody close but then over-commited myself.

I thought my last hit would have been enough so wasted my stamina and then he squashed me! :x

I got Artorias on my second go. That's a great fight. His moves are really well telegraphed, and that's what makes it so good.

Never watched a stream before but will make an exception for something truly special.

Oh you'll know he has got there from space

He has made it to Anor Londo.

Legend, thank you

Yeah really enjoyed that one, probably the best fight in a while for me! :toot:

Took a couple more attempts beyond the last go:

Still can't quite believe Jawa is going to finish Dark Souls. Doesn't feel real, but there's no way he doesn't do it now. What a legendary forum moment it will be. :toot:

The perfect send off for the forum in it's current guise. The GR upgrade will begin as Jawa beats the end boss, the whole forum is archived and locked and we move to GR new game+

The other big boss in the DLC area is great.

... :o ... I'm feeling the pressure!

It's odd as, whenever I meet a new challenge / baddie, I think it's gonna be too tough. But, over time and with many (many) attempts, it starts to feel possible... achievable. I think, after 50-odd hours, that I'm beginning to "get" Souls! Only beginning, mind.

Excellent, I look forward to it!

Have to say I'm really enjoying this DLC area so far, a good mix of areas and some nice new enemies.

On to the Chasm of the Abyss now...

So, the Chasm led me to:

Got so damn close to beating him first try as well! :X

Greedy? You went full on Jawa at the end  I don't have happy memories of that fight. I found it hard, probably the hardest fight in the whole game. It was a good one but it was made worse as the trek from the bonfire to it was was so dreadfully long. I hated it so much. I spent far more time just repeating that walk then I ever did fighting him.

Beat Manus on my third attempt. He's a bit of a bastard.

I found him harder than you so it seems, took me a fair few goes (the journey to him never helped).

Full on Jawa!

Not had a second go at him but I'm hopeful I won't need to have too many tried. I wasted a lot of Estus toward the start in that first go, I think I took the last 50% or so of his health down after I had run out!

I didn't find the journey to him too bad, I just ran like hell from the ghosts and ended up at the fog gate!

I do really like this DLC area so far - it being a standalone space that isn't threaded into the rest of the world like the earlier areas of the main game is a bit of a drawback, but it does have some good variety to it and it's offering a bit more of a challenge as well which is nice!

Im really interested to see how Jawa gets on with the archer bit in ano londo.

I very nearly quit at that part, i think it took me something like 27 attempts, and its such a long slog each time as its just before the next bonfire.
