Only joined the stream about two minutes before the end, but was that Jawa's first attempt at the Capra Demon with... one Estus? That's confidence for you. Beat one boss and you don't even need HP anymore.

Had a cool couple of hours back in Dark Souls this afternoon. I wasn't sure where to go or what to do so there was quite a bit of wandering about involved... but we opened a few short-cuts and then got to some new places and met the Capra Demon and his hounds. Man, it's a tough scenario; the demon is big, the hounds are crazed and you're fighting in a small, enclosed area. The first attempt went okay; I killed the hounds but then succumbed to the demon. The second time I couldn't gain focus on the hounds and I just got duffed up.

It was a pretty intense few hours and my head aches now  . What a game, though; super-tough but super-great. Thanks again to the folk who joined and gave little tips and suggestions when I was getting lost in circles  .

Yeah, I need to kindle the bonfire on the "dragon bridge" so that I can get 10 Estus power rather than 5; but it wouldn't let me as it said I didn't have any humanity (even though I do in my inventory :? ).

I knew to get rid of the dogs as quickky as possibly and got lucky, killing them in one swipe before the Capra Demon caught up to me.

After that, you can use the environment to your advantage and basically lead him around in a circle, up the stairs and landing on him from above. He's not that hard on his own.

I always fight him this way. It makes it piss easy.

Jawa needs to head to Blighttown next.

... ... :? . How come, man? :( .

I was so emotionally invested in your streams dude. We were all watching and supporting. Waiting for the moment. To witness and bask in your glory. Then you denied it to us..... again. Even after we all told you that we didn't mind watching you spend hours doing the same thing.

We are your War Boys and you our Immortan Joe. I would have died for you. But now I'll just have to run off with one of your sexy daughters.

It's like getting the ultimate cliffhanger and then being told they wont broadcast the next ep and they just say "it was all ok in the end."

Soulution

You have to have humanity in the bank (the number next to your life bar) to kindle. The ones in your inventory are "stored", like the "lesser soul" etc, until you consume to gain them.

You also need to be human (which takes a humanity) so kindling takes you two humanity total

Dark Souls Thread, tell me what to do next. I beat the Gargoyles. Should I go straight to Quelaag, or should I mess around in Darkroot for a bit? I could smash the Hydra and open up the Forest Hunter's Woods from the back entrance. Could I maybe even get to Quelaag via Ash Lake? My goal is to take the most unconventional route possible...

... :( . I just decided to have a mini practice session... and the victory arrived... I didn't want to bore people with repeated runs.

But, hey, I was back to streaming today and it was cool; we reached some new places and met the Capra Demon. Looking forward to getting back to the adventure tomorrow afternoon... and I will stream it :-) .

Soulution...

Oh! Thanks, Hexx! I'm cautious about consuming stuff after my Firelink Shrine soul gaff. Next session I'll use the humanity to kindle the bonfire (after first de-hollowing) :toot: .

I'm finding that "what do I do / where do I go?" factor both baffling and yet great in Souls. You don't get told *anything* . This afternoon I went to a couple of new places and opened up a few doors / shortcuts and my brain was aching after trying to take it all in!

How would you get to AL without going past Queelag?

I've been restarting original souls with my new box. Super sampling down from 2160p thanks to dsfix, and still 60fps. :datass: I don't like the lighting in the remaster.

Such a hard as nails game but I'm starting to get the feel of it again. Also, now I remember how to do jump attacks and kicks.

I killed the merchant after getting some chain mail for the itchikana this time, I found it in blightown originally but didn't really use it. I'm focusing on a dex build modelled after my girlfriend, which is something I do as alternative playthroughs for some reason (well anyway that's what was on steam cloud but I don't remember it). So far I have killed her many many times.

Done the Taurus demon and hog thing and venturing into the undead parish now. Unfortunately got double KOd by an undead bucaneer but hopefully I'll unlock the shortcut to/from fire link shrine soon.

I might copy over my original save (assuming that works as it was GFWL) as I was right at the start of Annor Londo there. I just never got back into it.

Of joy.

I followed Cheeky Dev's guidance for gaining the ring and then returned to battling the gargoyles. I had several attempts and, dang, I got real close to finishing them off before they just switched on the flames. I was determined to take 'em down!

And then it happened. I was stunned  . Thank you to the folks here who shared ideas, spurred me on and kept believing  .

:toot: :toot: Congratulations Jawa :toot: :toot: you were awesome :toot: :toot:

It’s a shame that it wasn’t on stream as it would have been cool to watch the build up and hear your reaction.

Yeah, Matt was kinda mad that I hadn't streamed, but I was just "practicing" and hadn't expected to claim victory at that point. I will stream my next adventures!

No pressure Jawa, just as long as you are having fun. I wouldn’t want you feeling like you had to stream if you didn’t want to.

You are doing a great job, I always enjoy when you stream

Had a good couple of hours. Cheers to people who popped in to hang out or heckle! ;)

Beat the Moonlight Butterfly (despite Maf's very rude and distracting comments!!!; might make the Horn from her soul), then Havel (for Havel's Ring), then the Taurus Demon (to chat to Solaire), then went down to the bottom of Blighttown and beat Mildred the Maneater, then summoned her to help with Quelaag, who I must say absolutely shat on me when I tried her solo  :dread: but we got her!

Productive session!

Yeah, it was fun, Karl! It was interesting to see how you tackled some of those earlier stages in different ways to normal; it must be cool to build up your Souls knowledge and be able to get to places by alternative paths.

My session following yours was cool; we worked out the shortcut way to get to the Capra Demon and I kindled the fire so that I get ten Estus units.

Oh, and I killed a black knight and got his sword! Haven't tried using it yet; looks a bit heavy.

EDIT: Karl's bonfire kill :slol: .

... . Wow, I hadn't realised; I just that saw it was quite heavy and I haven't even equipped it yet! I'll take a look at it next session :toot: .
