Oof! Was doing pretty well, but just got to Sif, and he's posing quite a difficulty jump!

These ghosts in new Londo ruins are doing my head in, especially the ones that just seem to have loads more health for no reason, and I can't seem to find a bonfire in there anywhere. :x

There's a back entrance to that area, I think the area is called the Valley of Drake's or something, it's the place with all the dragons.

Thing is, I think you get the key for it from the red guy in the New Londo Ruins. So you probably will have to fight at least a ways into it.

I didn't enjoy New Londo Ruins either, particularly after I accidentally killed the guy in red who sells the transient curse item that lets you attack the ghosts! :fp:

I bought those from one of the other merchants. I think it's the person in the sewer area behind the grate.

aye Im sure that woman merchant near the entrance to the Depths/Firelink viaduct shortcut sells a limited supply of transient curses. If you have that ring that boosts item discovery that helps getting the dagger to drop from the ghosts that lets you damage them without using a transient curse.

There's also a sword (astorias straight sword I think) which has holy (or whatever it's called) damage so can hurt ghosts on it's own.

Do divine (or whatever they're called) weapons hurt ghosts as well? I think one of the embers I've picked up allows me to modify weapons in that way so that could be an option.

I did just realise that the woman in the sewers sells the transient curse as well, but she seems to charge a hell of a lot more for it!

I caved and looked it up, and I'm not even supposed to be in the new Londo ruins :fp:

Apparently when the NPC at Firelink Shrine talks about the second bell of awakening being down below, somewhere, that didn't mean down the stairwell immediately in front of him. :|

Glad I can sack that bit off for now, though.

Finally beat the Capra Demon on my umpteenth try, and now I'm on to the depths. Hollows with torches that set you on fire, and that butcher looking guy. :dread:

Coming up against a few dead ends now where my progress is blocked by a yellow light/mist. Tells me something about being sealed by some Lords power or something like that? Going to have to see if there is an avenue I've not been down that might open things up again...

Still finding this to be a real blast to play, so much more enjoyable than I feared!
