After the Taurus Demon, Hypes? If so, I first topped up my energy by taking a swig from the estus flask, then held up my shield to deflect the fire blast from the dragon before finally running over to the gap on the right-hand side of the bridge wall and going down the stairs.

Edit: I did a Dark Souls tip. Have I turned Pro Gamer? ;-) .

Regarding the dragon on the bridge
you can bait him into coming down to the ground and then leg it past him. You find a bonfire and an area linked to one of the covenants...\[T]/

Thanks for making and sharing the clips, Matt! I understand your past views about some of the infamous Dark Souls "BS"!

That boar getting stuck  .

I need to be a little more tactical in fighting; I think I'm treating it a bit like Golden Axe at the moment :D . It would help if the "kick" move wasn't so tricky to pull off; it's hard to instigate it.

Absolutely, SaladMan! I did rush past him and I made it to the bonfire :) .

I'm pleased with the progress made in that impromptu hour of gaming. I gained a new shield (the knight shield) and a new sword (the Halberd, albeit I'm not yet strong enough to wield it). It was punishing but fun and I plan on streaming again tomorrow (I'll give plenty of notice here about the start time).

My bad, should have perhaps spoilered some of that, I forget this may be some people's first time playing this.

Hey, all good, man. I know that a few other folk are currently playing through this, too, including Cheeky Devlin and Hyperion.

I've completed it before, but yeah I've spoilered some stuff for Jawa.

Is the Capra Demon the one in that little courtyard with the two dogs? He was bloody annoying I seem to recall!

I never had any trouble with it for some reason, yet died as landed the final hit on pinwheel :fp:

Capra Demon is cake when you know the technique, but it can be pretty overwhelming when you first meet him.

Dang it, man, this game is just too tough. I spent some time earlier just "grinding"; slowly collecting souls and levelling up a (little) bit. I then returned to the main quest and didn't do any better than before :-( . I'm finding the "re-do tons of stuff just to get back to were you were" approach a bit frustrating, too.

Gonna give it a break for today.

Run around enemies instead of fighting them. It's a viable tactic.

You know, my movement seems a bit slow in-game. Folk say I should run around / behind enemies but I don't have the speed to do so; we end up just circling each other. I just watched a YouTube vid of the section I'm in and the guy was way quicker - he could run behind baddies and back-stab them. Maybe my full-armour (knight) outfit doesn't allow this?

Hmmn... scratch that, he's wearing armour, too. Maybe I just need to practice on my movement and positioning a bit.

Edit: Well, he's wearing armour, but he seems way quicker than my sloth-like movement.

Edit: Ah! And he's bought a load of arrows from a seller. I haven't tried buying anything yet. This game has so much in it... but doesn't tell you anything about it  .

I always found it handy to have a bow as a backup weapon. You can often get a good hit in or even pick a weaker enemy off entirely before they even know you’re there.

Pretty much sums the game up.

Dark Souls 1 & 2 look nice in my 360 collection, but I've neither the time or inclination to bang my head against a wall with the series. strawberry float 'get gud'.

Jawa, what's your equip load? What armour are you wearing?

Off the top of my head I can't remember what the thresholds are, but if you're wearing loads of heavy stiff, you're going to move and dodge slower. While your equipment load is quite low, you want to be wearing light stuff if you're wanting to dodge properly.

I think I have a bow of some type; I picked it up from a defeated enemy. I haven't tried using it yet and I guess I'll need to buy some arrows. Will give it a go, SaladMan!

I am wearing the start-out Knight outfit, Parksey. I'm using a Knight shield that I picked up; and I'm using a lance as my current weapon. I've only just realised - from watching a vid - that weapons degrade; I wonder if outfits do, too? I'm gonna check the degrade stats next time I play.

As for my level stats, I'll take a screenshot tomorrow and post it here :-) .
