Yep, the level design works brilliantly from both a functional perspective and a lore/world building one.

I have to confess that I've not been looking too closely at your updates these past few days, Jenuall, because I want to avoid spoilers for my own journey! It's cool that we're both exploring Londo :-) . Have you established how to identify the mimics?

Londo is a great area, the boss is something for you to look forward to as well!

I've found with the Mimics that you can see them move if you observe them closely, almost like they're breathing! Even now near the end of the game they're still a challenge if you don't put them down quick!

You're quite right, Jen - here are my top two tips for recognising mimics!

1) When standing in front of the treasure chest, the chain will point directly towards you!
2) If you get close to the treasure chest, watch the lid - it will very slowly open and close; just a wee bit but repeatedly!

To be safe, I always give a chest a shot with an arrow from a distance if possible or a hit with a weapon to be sure.

I have taken a couple of strides, Karl, but I feel the journey is long where Souls is concerned!

>>> Just a heads-up that I plan on continuing the walkabout in Londo at 1515 (UK). If anyone is about and wants to join, I'll post a stream link as I go live.

Yep, I just attack every chest now to be safe!

I find that if I do a strong two handed attack initially and follow it up with a flurry of quick attacks then I can usually kill them off before they get a chance to fight back!

I have travelled through Anor Londo and met the boss... Ornstein and Smough. This is hell.

 .

I can't imagine how I'm gonna get past them but I will continue to try.

This is what I've been waiting for! Jawa Vs the New Super Londo Bros.

You've been playing better than I did on my first playthrough. I'm sure you'll get this if you just stick at it.

We are all proud of you dude. And you too Jenuall :datass:

Just seen Jawa tackle the Archers. You lucky beautiful bastard! You've no idea how many times I tried what you did only to get shot in the back and sent flying.

Cheeky saying that the only reason he helped was to get him to this point.

I'm pretty sure I did them first go, and as I hadn't read ahead about what was coming, I didn't see them as anything bad until people said after. I found the winged bastards before to be more trouble really.

I hope so! Other bosses felt really tough when first facing them but these two... grrr!

:slol: . I hadn't seen a blacksmith for ages and it felt like a time to repair!

Well if they wanted me to go there at a lower level then they should have made it a bit more obvious to get to!

I didn't even realise you could go back to the starting area until I was dicking around in Firelink and found the birds nest!

That ring would have come in handy if I had found it before the end of the bloody game! :fp:

Also now that I'm near the end (or it seems that way) I thought I would finally have a go with that Zweihander that everyone bangs on about....

It seems I may have fed it to Frampt for a few souls. :slol:
