Bullshit, you went on that huge rant at me about how there are "definitely no mimics in DS2" straight after I mentioned I was going to play it, you bastard

I have no memory of this happening at all :slol:

Painted world complete!

Decided against killing the boss woman at the end as I've been getting so much stick from Hexx for killing everyone! ;)

Priscilla:
Priscilla is only worth killing if you're playing a pure Dex built. Her tail-dagger is kind of interesting (maybe not "good" but cool), and the scythe you can make from her soul is really good.

And done, roll the credits!

Gwyn was a bit of a pushover, but then that might be the point I guess?

After enjoying but not really getting the fuss when I played DS3 I have to say that I am hugely impressed by this now. I don't think it's going to go into my all time top 10 or anything but I have to admit that this has been a bloody brilliant game! :toot:

Love that it just dumps you straight back into NG+

Couple of clips:
There aren't many cutscenes in this (which I like!) but those it does have a really nicely done:

Haha, I'm waiting for my report.card from Hexx! Very keen to roll on to a NG+ run but I've got so much else to play. Really tempted to pick up DS2 or give DS3 another bash too!

Might go back and look at some of those spoiler boxes as well...

GG Jenny. Not surprised you found the final boss easy. Took me two attempts. :fp: ;) I assume you got the bad ending?

Thats actually really annoying if you've not done the DLC or missed anything.

It's VERY easy to be overlevelled for the final boss (and also he's a solid, but largely unchallenging, humanoid enemy with sword attacks that you'll be used to)

Yeah that definitely could be annoying - I was aware beforehand that this wasn't the kind of game where you can carry on with the same world after killing the final boss so I made sure I had done pretty much everything I wanted to before taking him on!

Regarding the ending:
I "linked the fires" by lighting the final bonfire - not sure if that counts as the good or bad ending?

Yeah it was a bit of an anticlimax as a result of this - the DLC section was definitely a bigger challenge, and I think getting the four souls for the lordvessel was harder as well.

Not sure what level the game expects you to be at but I was around 100 by the end of the game.

Oh and also I think the Painted World section was one of the very best parts of the game - such a well designed little area!

Doesn't even know if he got the good or bad ending

The other ending in this is to let the flame die out.

To get it (IIRC) you just walk out. I'm not sure if you have to tirgger it by doing certain events - but you'd certainly need to do them to know it was an option

Basically have to get down into the Abyss by four kings before you get the lord vessel. You meet another primordial serpent who tells you a different version of the story and suggests not everything you've been told is the full truth

You've relinked the fire, and the Age of Fire continues (but the flame will likely dim again in time...and the cycle continuies)

If you let the fire die, the cycle breaks and the Age of Dark begins...is that good or bad?

Joking aside about you being terrible - it's incredibly hard to "stumble" across this route/path during a normal play through of the game

The final boss is a joke if you can parry.

I liked how powerful that run up to him made you feel. All through the game you've been weary of black knights, but here, nah go strawberry float yourselves I'll take you all on without taking a hit.

Gwyn took me like 20 attempts. Not sure if I was underlevelled or what, but I couldn't get his attack patterns down at all and he's really fast. Funny how different people find different things difficult, I remember struggling with Dragonslayer Armour on DS3 too and everyone seemed to think that was pretty simple too.
