I often feel with David Bowie how people sometimes feel when they look at things like Star Trek or Doctor Who, and how I felt with Terry Pratchett until a few years ago: I know I'll like it, but it's difficult to get into such a large body of work without getting lost very quickly. I haven't listened to any of the classic Bowie albums all the way through, but everything I've heard of his I've liked (or loved in the case of Space Oddity), and there's so much stuff I want to listen to now just in this thread!
I had no idea he'd done a drum and bass album until I read the obituary on Arseblog, and after searching it out for one or two songs I've just listened to the entire album
. Moral of the story: just dive in and enjoy it! I also hope someone shows The Man Who Fell to Earth again as well, I think the Beeb have the rights...
RIP, and thank you in advance for all of your music I'm about to experience.
