The hordes turn up when you get the huge Molotov to use.
The game gives you areas where they could be but you need to find them but it isn't hard as the search areas are pretty small and some of the hordes are huge.
Places like the sawmill (that was the horde from the game trailers shown at E3) have good hordes.
I'm pretty sure the first Horde is part of the story but I could be wrong.

I had problems with that. Need to boost your nitro to its maximum upgrade, choose low level wheels so you’ll have less grip.

Lightly steer while boosting. Need to hold down boost and drift, don’t turn too far.

It was the final trophy I needed and a hour later I finally got it!

Thanks, will change the wheels, any tips on where to do it?

There’s a large area next to the second camp, the one that look like an holiday inn.

Think so. I can’t remember exactly where.

There should be an ambulance parked next to it. The area is wide enough for a nitro drift.

I don’t think I’ve ever played a game with such inconsistent chaotic writing as this. It lurches one direction to another with important plot points cropping up, seemingly at random, zero character consistency and basically no through thread leading you on.

I do admit the story can be a tad erratic.
I think the main problem is that because you have so much choice it sort of screws up the story which I'm not sure they can be faulted for.

I loved the game and it was fun but I do agree the story while solid wasn't fantastic.

I do however hope the sequel is next gen and includes co-op story mode as that would be bloody great.

You have choice?

None of the characters actions make any sort of consistent sense.

Hell, most of it is just plain nonsensical.

I’ve also not got onto horde stuff yet despite moving on to a new area. It seemed like the game was setting it up, then it just dropped it and there’s no sign of it again.

Yep, there's also a second ending after the first ending that takes a couple of hours to activate.

Done.

I’m not sure I’ve played a more wildly inconsistent game this Gen as this one. strawberry float me, just so much weird gooseberry fool. Gameplay was not good enough or have enough ideas to sustain the length of the game which ultimately led it to becoming pretty dreary. The hoarde stuff on the couple of occasions it’s a proper mission is strawberry floating great. Possibly one of the top 10 gameplay moments of this Gen. Mechanically it’s pretty solid, most of the systems work and interact as intended. The world was a little disappointing, it lacked any real memorable areas and I think should have had a city to punctuate the final chapter. Characters were actually pretty good if hard to track due to their emotional swings and the story beats just not matching with any dialogue or appropriate reactions to anything.

I take it the second ending comes from clearing the hoardes?

You need to clear a few more hordes but not all. I still had loads left when I got it.

The second ending is available online if you're done with the campaign though.

How is this now since it’s received a few updates? Did it sort out some of the issues the game had in terms of bugs/issues?

I finished this yesterday along with Fire Emblem and I enjoyed it overall. I thought it was finished a few times only for it to keep going, though generally in a good way.

My biggest issue was that the AI was a bit too psychic at times. More than once an enemy you were sneaking up on would turn around at the last second despite having never turned in such a way before, and as soon as one enemy knew your position then all of them were.

Hordes could just randomly know where you are even if you were behind an obstacle to obscure you from view and no other enemies to spot you.

And if a human enemy was leaning against something like a tree or a post they were immune to stealth takedowns, you'd have to use a silenced gun instead.

Can't say I enjoyed the Horde fights, especially with some of the Super Molotov components being hard to track down. I only did the required story ones.

Outside of Hordes I liked the combat though, and the variety of weapons gave you plenty of options. My preferred setup at the end was a Handun, Submachine Gun and Sniper Rifle.

I only got one of the 4 secret endings, but watched the other 3 online. After that O'Brian ending I'm absolutely up for a sequel.

The game already looks great so a next gen sequel could be a bit of a showcase.
They do need to make it shorter though and the map doesn't need expanding just make it react more to the player actions.
If possible they could have camps maybe fighting each other if they're not allied to each other with the player able to step in and help set-up defences or organise raids.

There's plenty they could do and I'm looking forward to seeing where they go.

Well the ending sounded like it was going to be setting up a Survivor Camps vs NERO narrative. So I could see the initial part of the game being to unite the survivor camps or something, which will probably end up with you having to 'deal with' both Copeland and Tucker.
Plus you've got a possibly renegade faction within NERO to possibly recruit.

Be interesting to see what they do with the intelligent Freaks like O'Brian and what they were talking about with the regular freaks mutating faster and faster.

They aren’t psychic.

If their head is turned to the right, you have to sneak from the left. It caught me off guard as never had a game of similar genre doing that, as their field of vision is usually based on where their front body is facing, not the head.

Other reason why it isn’t psychic abilities. I stumbled into a bloke who was working on a car, ran away and got in cover. Slowly went round the camp, murdering the car bloke’s mates.

Went back to the car bloke. What was he doing? Back working on the car. :slol:
