Another horde destroyed. Not a big one, but one less to be concerned about.

I'm at the end game. Last mission or two to do and also the last hordes to destroy. So I'm focusing on the hordes as it's great fun. Also trying to max out all camps.

Hordes are not as much trouble as they once were.... Though I've still not gone back to the saw mill. I want a lot of supplies before I do.

Nice one. How many hours were you putting in a day?

I've no idea were I'm up to. Just destroyed my fourth horde.

Keep the spoilers at bay! ;)

I think I'm at about 40 hours total playthrough. Been brilliant fun and the story is surprisingly good.

Had a couple of crashes over the last few days. Last one actually turned off the PS4. Not acceptable for a full price game. As much as I love it I don't have any tolerance for games being shipped (post or pre patching) which cause crashes let alone hard crashes.

Edit....

And finished....

Still a few bits and pieces to do but main story done.

Much like Mad Max the actual side quests and gameplay is more fun than the story. As the story has a lot of cut scenes.

Towards the end the game tasks you with hunting down X and y. It's not a fetch quest more a sequence of kill quests. Fun but nothing new.

Highlights of the game are the horde and exploring. It's not that any areas are Zelda BOTW unique it's just fun to get out and feel like the last man standing. The sense of danger from the horde is great too.

The game would have benefitted from a Christmas release to tidy things up and also build up the end game as it's a lot of repeating of tasks.

I did the saw mill horde and that was truly intense. Even with a lot of prep I still struggles due to the numbers if enemies.

Overall it's a 8/10 game for me. A lot to love and a few bits that need improving. I'm going straight back into it to find more hordes and finish off my upgrading.

Well done on finishing it. Bit gooseberry fool about the console crashing. I've had that happen a few times with my vanilla PS4 with various games so wonder if it's more the system than the games themselves?

Anyway, I've just got past the bit where you kill Carlos/Jesse to give you an idea of where I'm at.

Played a lot more this evening and I’m enjoying it a lot. It is awesome yet it can be tense to face a lot of freakers or destroy the nests.

It’s incredible and I’m dreading facing the first horde when it comes to me soon. :dread: :slol:

Can’t wait to play some more tomorrow after work. :toot:

Down south now. Deacon's reunion with his wife was surprising, as in that was cold hearted. An unexpected outcome given the build up. I actually felt for the man. Days Gone has some good story telling for a video game

Hmm, had a lot more stuttering since moving to the new area in the south. Hope it gets patched double quick.

So did everyone know that you can pull up to a gas pump at a petrol station and fill your bikes tank directly from the pump?

There is one in your home camp too

Yeah. I did that by accident.

Then a horde swamped me on my bike. Game over man!

I've spent the evening trying to finish off the hordes. The only bad thing is that once you get it the hordes are no trouble at all. Just take some practice. It would have been better if all hordes were in set piece locations and that really adds a huge amount to the event feeling of it.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with the free DLC. Hopefully set piece replays as the saw mill has loads of replay value.

I'm still bumbling around in the south. I dunno, but I still find the experience fills me with a sense of dread even this far in. Guess I'm a bit of a scaredy cat.

Must admit I really enjoy just exploring the open road, and going off the beaten track exploring the old dilapidated buildings.

Think I'm nearing the end game now. Have today off so I should have the main story finished at some point.

IGN gave the latest episode of Game of Thrones 8.8 calling it "great"

IGN fudged their RE2 remake review and were caught red-handed

Eurogamer came down on Horizon Zero Dawn calling it "generic and forgettable"

The list goes on...so yeah, "reviews" mean squat as far as I'm concerned.

This game does show you can't always believe what reviewers say and sometimes you've just got to go out a try it for yourself.
