Sega Soccer Slam. I usually hate sports games but this was a hell of a lot of fun especially in multiplayer.

No One Lives Forever

The creativity, writing and storytelling are still significantly better than most other FPS games and they both hold up really well even now. A version made today with the benefits of today's technology would have the potential to be incredible but it's so lost in disputes over trademarks that it's unlikely we'll ever see the originals re-released digitally, let alone a sequel.

Little Big Adventure

Most people's first 3D adventure game seems to have been something like Mario 64 or Zelda but mine was Little Big Adventure 2 and it's still one of my favourite ever games. The first is great too although I think shows its age a lot more. The scope and imagination in LBA2 is brilliant, travelling between different worlds and encountering so many different characters, situations and types of gameplay. It's a really unique game, probably the closest comparison I could make is Beyond Good & Evil. The original creator, Frederick Raynal, is the same guy who did Alone in the Dark, Time Commando and Toy Commander. He got the license back to LBA a few years back and I think he intends to make a 3rd game eventually but I think the scale of developing it is probably proving an issue at the moment, his last few games have been pretty small things (Soul Bubbles on DS and 2Dark on PC, PS4 and XBONE) but I live in hope there may eventually be a sequel. I've only been waiting 21 years for one...

There are lots of franchises that could make decent comebacks, but I have been thinking about games I loved that I would like to see re-released in collections rather than remade.

A 16-bit EA collection could be great, it would have all the Road Rash’s, an old FIFA/NHL/Madden (names might have to be changed if they didn’t want to pay for licences!), the Strike games, Powermonger, Syndicate and probably loads of others that I have forgotten.

Oh man, that was awesome. Great shout!

Just thought of another, Power Stone.

A new Eye of the Beholder could be pretty amazing.

I'd say yes but I think Etrian Odyssey and Grimrock have got that market pretty well sewn up.

If anyone wants to make a new Marvel Ultimate Alliance though, that would be nice. On Switch with 4 player couch co-op.

That would be amazing. Speaking of helicopters, I'd like a new Thunderhawk, too.

+1 for G-Police.

Bring back Jumping Flash as well. And V Rally.

Montezuma's Revenge | Commodore 64

I'd love to see this on the Switch with slightly more welcoming gameplay (i.e. less pixel-precision jumping required) and cooler 2D pixel graphics. I could complete all of the stages back in the day but now I would probably struggle to get through the first few screens!

I've not played Montezuma's Revenge but it appears superficially to be quite similar to Spelunker, which was recently revived in Spelunker Party on Switch.

Yeah, I think they're similar, Orange - and I noticed that you were playing Party on Switch :-). What did you think of it? I was tempted when it went on sale at £12, but the normal £25 seems a bit too steep.

£25 is probably too steep. I got plenty of fun out of it, but I think most people probably wouldn't.

I shelved it until I can go back in couch co-op, I think that's what the game is made for.

Most my favourite franchises are still alive today or were run into the ground.. Burnout for example, Paradise is the last of those games I say, although got a keen eye on NFS Hot Pursuit (2010).

Ecco the Dolphin?

Yup

To be fair the gameplay would probably be a bit dull by today's standards.

Subnautica seems to have a similar feel. Totally different game though.

One more - I'd love a new Streets of Rage game, but it'd have to have the same look as the originals. No change in perspective or art style, no crappy 3D sandbox version, nothing too different. I basically want them to re-release the originals with completely stable frame rate, enhanced visuals and music and maybe some new characters.

I loved Ecco. Up until the bit when it went all sci-fi! I always wished they'd just made a pure game about a dolphin in the sea and no extra-terrestrials. (Also, I never did finish it because the very last bit was ridiculously hard.)

I'd love to see some new Capcom and Konami 2D scrolling beat 'em ups in the vein of say Final Fight or Metamorphic Force. I'd even settle for a compilation of them released on a modern format as I loved playing that kind of game in arcades as a kid but they don't really seem to be a thing anymore bar a few rare examples like Scott Pilgrim (which you can't get anymore) and Castle Crashers.

Colony Wars
Future Cop LAPD
Perfect Dark
Dark Chronicle
No One Lives Forever
SEGA Soccer Slam
F-Zero

X-Wing/TIE Fighter series.

Rogue Leader was good (And should also get another entry), but I want another game that's more "sim"like in it's gameplay. Full-on campaigns with storylines running through it. Bliss.

With Elite doing well and Star Citizen coming out I'm actually surprised EA aren't trying to leverage a massive, online Star Wars space game. Would be amazing.

Looking back, V-Rally had some really weird physics, the car would kinda float along and it wouldn't take much to make it do a barrel roll.

Definitely this, loved the game, especially MOUSE MANIA!!!
