Anything to do with games at all.

Overall opinion after playing for much of the weekend, it's a fine addition to the DoA series. There's a good amount of single player stuff, even if the story mode is a load of bobbins, the mission mode (can't remember it's name) is my favorite mode so far. Roster is a decent size, but I'm a bit peeved to see Phase 4 and another character locked out as probably dlc. The new super bar is fine new mechanic and the fighting still feels great as usual, it's probably a bit of safe sequel but I'm enjoying it.

Yeah it's a solid fighter, (bridge breaks and the like are excellent), but the DLC + grind is a let down.

Since the introduction of side steeping in Virtua Fighter 3, Tekken 3 and DOA 2 in the late 90s the genre hasn't evolved apart from adding more cutscenes.

Haven't bought a fighting games myself since Virtua Fighter 5 a decade ago.

I don't think games need to necessarily evolve dramatically with each new iteration to be considered good. There are loads of very good games that didn't really do anything revolutionary, but are just very solid all around.

However, as expected Wesley Yin-Poole at Eurogamer went full woke with his "review". He even managed to squeeze Trump in there. What a massive prick.

Rather hypocritically EG have spent the last several weeks celebrating MK11's ability to rip out the eyeballs of scantily clad female fighters in a shower of bloody gore. Cretins :fp:

This review is so strawberry floating bad...

And Team Ninja has stuck with the icky camera free roam for victory poses.

Icky?! Did a grown ass man seriously use the word icky to describe camera controls?!

It's not really a review. Many employees/freelance writers at EG use the site as a platform to push their own political ideology. They're always being called out on it by the sites readership, but instead of engaging their audience they go through deleting comments and banning accounts. It's a shame because it used to be quite a reasonably good gaming site. Good articles still do turn up from time to time amongst the hand wringing and copy-n-paste tabloid guff, but it's rare.

On a brighter note Koei-Tecmo have apparently been looking into changing the RNG element behind costume unlocks, and seem to have already greatly increased the amount of costume parts you get. At least they're listen to their fans.

80% seems pretty good to me.

Eurogamer's review is just trash, click bait nonsense. (Like a lot of EG's reviews these days). Bare in mind this is the same reviewer who not only has been spanking his monkey over the brutalised, sexualised female characters in MK11, but failed to mention the sexualised characters in his SC VI review. If you're gonna go full woke then at least be consistent.

Down to 74 on Metacritic - https://www.metacritic.com/game/playsta ... or-alive-6

Would like a new fighting game this gen but it's looking like Mortal Kombat 11 is my last hope for a great fighting game.

74% is still pretty good. It's a 7.5 from me. Combat is solid (it's always been superior to MK* which has always been average so not sure why you think it'll suddenly be better), and it has a good character rosta and plenty of game modes. The grind and overpriced DLC lets it down though.

*Take out DOA's titillation and it's still home to a quality fighter. Take out MK's gore and it's a bit of a damp squid with its weightless, stick figure fighting.

7/10 from Official PlayStation Magazine this month

"An approachable fighter with plenty of depth for those wanting to sink their teeth in,"

Said the game lacks presentational polish (same criticism they dished out to the very first one), with the story not as melodramatic as before - they wanted something sillier.

Was a reason ever given as to why Tecno made so many changes to the PS1 port of DOA? The Saturn version was close to arcade perfect.

The latest update has lessened the grind. Thank God.

Also I noticed Nyotengu has become available to buy separately. Don't recall her being available before, only the S1 pass. Anyway, £3.29 so I coughed up.

Enjoying Quest Mode a lot. (PS4 share mode quality when uploading is still ropy as strawberry float though. Or is it a YT thing?).

Dead or Alive 6 Update 1.02 - March 15th

Besides receiving costume patterns only for the character in use a lot of gameplay balance adjustments, new quests for the DOA Quest mode, the ability to rotate characters in the Wardrobe, new entry and victory animations for Kasumi, Hitomi, Marie Rose, and Bass.

Reqests from players have been listened to and with the next March update the 100x maximum boost to costume drops is going to become permanent. The way they’re received in DOA Quest will also be changed. As previously announced, we’ll also get the online lobby feature
.

This is all round good news. :D

I think when PS4 vids are first uploaded to YouTube they play at 360p resolution but, after a few minutes, they're available at 720p.

Nice YT channel, Gemini - the Dead or Alive action is good and it looks like you've been into racers over the past few years.

I do like a racer. I'm no where near Ad7's level of skill though.

I barely use the channel. I had originally planned to do a Lets Play channel, but don't really have the time.
