I'm not huge into fighting games, but I got Dead or Alive 4 with my Xbox 360 and HD TV back in 2006 and really enjoyed it. I don't know why I never picked up 5, but I'll keep an eye on this.

The problem with 5 is that everything bar the base game and a few extras was locked behind a pay wall. If they pull the same gooseberry fool with 6 I won't go near it.

Barely worth watching E3 what with all these games being announced or leaked beforehand.

Anyway, I always wondered what happened to the DOA games. Bouncing tits aside, there's not really anything to distinguish it from other, better games.

I'm not hugely into fighting games, but isn't DOA actually pretty highly regarded for it's counter system?

I liked 4 on the 360, and played a bit of 5 on the PC, so I'll keep an eye out for this, but I really hope it's not just another way to sell millions of dollars of DLC.

Love DoA 5 even if it's DLC is one of the greediest out there/
Can't wait to find out more about this.

For real? DOA has the most fluid sidesteps.

Ignore that, it was from a missed translated interview, sidestepping is clearly still in :)

Didn’t DOA’s creator have all kinds of sexual harassment rumours surrounding him?

Tomonobu Itagaki? I know he quit his job at Tecmo 10 years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if there are rumors about him to be honest. He's built his career off of machismo and sexy women.

They are actually decent. The counter system is really good (and separates casuals from practiced players) and the fighting itself feels fluid and more "free" if that makes any sense.

But yeah, the gratuitous T&A are one of the series' selling point and be lying if I said I was ONLY there for the fighting and not the USP of DOA. Considering how popular the increasingly risque DLC for DOA5 was and how DOA Xtreme 3 broke sales records on Playasia for an import game, Tecmo risk alienating a load of their audience if they tone DOA6 down too much. After all, the silliness is kind of what makes it.

They want to be taken seriously and become a proper tournament game but in my opinion, I'd rather have the pervy stuff than more yawnsome tournament speak about frames, hit detection and all that gooseberry fool.

I bought all three revisions of DOA5 and shitloads of DLC. Definitely a cynical rip-off (not to mention horrendously-structured DLC on the store) but I enjoyed it all the same.

I'm gay male player, so not in for fanservice* and I really enjoyed Dead or Alive 4, played so much of it.

The fan service is eh but I really love the characters and even if I was gooseberry fool at it, the fighting just feels so good. I do enjoy DoA5 but its rip off with DLC that should've been available in-game :/

*Granted, they did have Bass and few other male characters I do find hot... But I tend to play as female characters due to enjoying the fighting styles more.

That and I think the fact the game isn't always serious which is why I like it, bouncy tits did make me giggle at times

Edit: I also wanted to point out that I'm thirty years old and I still find bouncy virtual tits in middle of combat funny.
