Whilst I don't doubt that the original still plays fine, I reckon a next gen update of the lighting in this would be something special.

Yep. This is a game that if done right, the atmosphere calls out for ray traced shadows and lighting.

While the core combat is solid from the first, it was a bit clunky and could be refined.

I might go and play the original. But I would be interested in this for £20 or so.

First game I played on my Series X was Dead Space and it still looked fantastic. Not sure I'm down with spending £50 on playing the same game with a few extra bells and whistles and I strawberry floating love Dead Space.

Would be interested to know the number of people that would prefer a remake to a new installment. Poll time, OP!

I'll probably just (finally) play my pc version, with some mods if they exist. I'm sure this will look amazing and all that, haptics and so on, but it's going to be £70 isn't it :dread:

I would prefer a new instalment. But dead space is such a great game that I can’t not get excited about a remake.

A reboot would be far more interesting.

At least it’s not a remaster which EA would probably botch.

I do have ReShades for the games that look great, had to pay for them as I couldn't actually find them on anything but Patreon so if you want them I'll share them. Make sure you turn off V Sync in game and enable it via Nvidia Control Panel otherwise it locks it to 30fps which is quite horrible on PC. Apart from ReShades there's no texture mods to be had.

I tried it today without reshade and I think I was getting the effect you are talking about. It looked
horrendous and blurry. Like that effect in halo reach where the animations don’t work above 60FPS.

I’d be up for getting those reshades, if you were sharing?

>ReShades for all 3 Dead Space games I use<

I do turn off the letterbox option in RS settings due to it cutting off a small amount at the top and bottom of the screen.

Nice one. Thanks. It’s a .rar file, what else do I need to install? For Resident remakes I needed fluffy manager to run rar files or install the latest version of reshade from their website. for GTAV there is a loader.

Download reshade and apply this Rar?

Extract the rar and you get 3 rars, 1 for each DS game so then extract them to their own folder. Basically just install ReShade and then copy the folder contents to the ReShade install directory (Should be your game your installing it to)

Awesome. I’ll try that later. You got any screenshots to share here for how awesome it looks.

That new trailer does look amazing. I know everyone likes to bash EA (me included, e.g. for Mass Effect) for swearing the assets but I’m up for a dead space remake.

I did post a few in the High-Res Screenshot thread. But honestly, looks better running than what’s shown in the pics.

Yeah I really want a game where you have to take on those nightmare planets at the end on the third game.
