The audio issue is making it easier to hold off. If / when that gets patched i might start struggling a bit more.....

I've played and finished the game on both PS3 and Xbox 360, so I really shouldn't be triple-dipping.

However...

There's a physical release? I thought it was e-shop only.

The preorder is available at game and a place called geekstore. The latter is 10 quid cheaper at 35 quid. Are they reputable. Both stores seem to be selling a version that comes with lovely badges....
So I'm all ready to order except for my uncertainty as to whether they are reputable orbifbthey will just cancel it last minute. £10 seems like a big difference but I don't want to be left with high and dry come release day....

Gnnnh. No way am I paying fourty-five quid... I guess the badges (which look pretty neat!) are only supplied with this "collectors edition". I'm hoping that the "standard edition" will be £25 - £30 once other places start advertising it.

Then again, I'm not sure if I can wait for late November when I could just download it now for £25 (less a wee bit of Gold credit).

"What do you think, Zach?"

Yeah 45 is a big ask, but 35 in the other link I mentioned seems more bearable. I just want to know they will sort the audio issues and I'm there.

This seems to have been patched now, and audio drop out is significantly reduced from what i have read. I have pre ordered the physical on geekstore for £35.

Pre-ordered from Game, it was only £5 more at £40 and the geekstore version didn't look like it was the collector's edition (with the badges) to me? To allay some fears however I recognise the store :)

Glad I've got it ordered now anyway :toot:

Thanks for the heads-up, kaz! By most accounts the audio is much improved albeit one or two discrepancies remain. I've held off from jumping aboard but it feels like that moment is nearing.

I was concerned about the badges, but its does mention them in the address header. Did not realise it was only £40 now at game - i probably would have gone for that for the peace of mind. Ah well, if it doesn't have the badges i will send it back.

Edit - i have been proactive for once in my life and emailed them. Somethings are too important to let fate dictate - Deadly Premonition badges are one of them.

Double edit - Geekstore have confirmed their version does NOT have the badges. Am trying to cancel my preorder as we speak. Looks like Game for me.....

We should all play through this together after the physical launches and the numbers are boosted. Hopefully it will have been patched to an inch of its life by then as well!

I didn't think I would but I've held off from picking this up.

This Switch version is not a port of the Director's Cut as released on PS3 in 2013, but of the original Xbox 360 version; this means that the slightly updated controls and the different vehicles / costumes are not included. Additionally, there seems to be quirks with the audio (some of which have now been fixed) and performance. I'm not gonna drop around £38 on the physical version or £25 on the download version when it's not as good as the PS3 version that I already have. Having watched several vids on YouTube it appears that, by most accounts, this version is pretty much a "second-best" option for playing the game.

It's such a shame; I just don't get why the publisher would put out a version that is perhaps weaker than one that is several years old now. I do also feel bad for putting a downer on the excitement of folk who may be picking this up... I just hope that the publisher could put out a couple of improvement patches to bring the game up to scratch. Deadly Premonition deserves it!
