I thought that the silended SMG was much better than the nail gun so I rarely used any nail guns again after obtaining it. I think I probably played a bit louder than you guys as I also kept an explosive rapier and toxic fourpounder on me most of the time  Although those were mostly used to deal with Julianna invasion.

I didn't think that SMG was actually silenced, but just made less noise?

I had a nail gun with the ability to disable electronics (turrets etc.) so I found that doubly-useful as well as being a stealth weapon.

I also think the gold sniper is very easy to obtain, perhaps too much so, and I lucked out on a good ability the first time getting it (hold down R2 for increased damage).

I thought that from the description, but as far as I can recall it never seemed to alert any guards when using it.

Lets face it the guards rarely alert to a strawberry floating shotgun right next to them!

Standing right behind, you can shoot a guy in the head with the silenced SMG and someone next to him won't hear you. It's extremely overpowered if you want to be stealthy.

I still can't get over how good the soundtrack to this game is. Often I'll just find myself standing around mid-loop so that I can listen to one of Frank's croons!

The trailer music is so bloody good as well, these two are better than most Bond themes we've had for about 20 years now!

I loved the few nods to the fact it might be connected to the Dishonored universe as well, even if they are just Easter eggs: the ending pistols being clearly a reference to the dueling pistols from Lady Boyle's Manor in Dishonored plus the fact you can find a recording of the Drunken Whaler song being picked up as a broadcast on the island

Finding out that the outside world is suffering from a deadly pandemic (that Aeon was proposing the loop as an escape from) also felt Dishonored-like

Yeah that's a good point as well!

The music is really great, I would stop and listen to Frank's tracks too 8-)

Fair play, I think the description threw me and I never gave it a proper go!

Also this is fair

Just finished the main story. I enjoyed how it all came together for one perfectly planned day. Was a bit close to failing in the evening section but got through to see the credits.

Would love to see a sequel.

Very enjoyable game overall, gameplay is excellent but the story wasn't explained enough.

I beat the morning of the final loop yesterday with an empty loadout (no weapons, perks or powers), no eternalist kills, never spotted - the only things I picked up were two bottles I needed to use for my route. Popped two trophies at once, and would have been four had I not finished an earlier practice run!

For those interested in the route I took:

Morning is Karl's bay, needing to sabotage the fireworks and kill Harriet. From the start sprint left around the map hugging the edge, dropping under the bridge near Pick's apartment and then down towards the waterfront under the other bridges, then right until warehouse 2 is directly ahead. Tag the one guard who moves left of the warehouse (as their position is important to know for the escape) then follow behind them to the left of the warehouse, jump up onto the pipework, and follow this round over the top of the fireworks storage. Drop down, sabotage the fireworks, then use the hole in the side of warehouse 1 to sneak inside. Wait a moment for the eternalist on the warehouse floor to turn around, sprint across the entrance and jump up both balconies, then sprint around the top to the connecting gangway door into warehouse 2. From there jump up on the right hand side onto the roof beams, over the top of where Amador is hooked up, and in the back right corner there is a bottle next to a gun and some ammo. Throw the bottle into the laser mines on Harriet's window, which will probably alert one of the eternalists from inside Harriet's private area but hopefully shouldn't interrupt her speech. Wait for the eternalist to investigate the noise then head over the roof beams and get on top of the private room - take the bottle that is up there. Quickly drop down and hop into the private room through the window and hide in the corner. Make sure Harriet is tagged and wait for the speech to finish. The tag makes it easy to track her movement as she walks upstairs - there is a brief moment when she reaches the top of the stairs where she will be facing away from the entrance to her private room, which is when you can sneak out and melee kill her - the eternalist crouched looking at the wall won't notice. Move to the right and look down at the door - throw the bottle at the button to open it then back into the corner. Wait for the eternalists inside to stop investigating, then when they are turned away and the eternalist outside (who got tagged earlier) is turned away, drop down, go through the door and sprint away retracing the route to the exit.

But of course, on my final successful run, I then sprinted slap bang into an NPC Julianna mine! Julianna then triggered (there is a weird quirk in her NPC mines will be spawned in set locations before she invades?) so I had to quickly divert to hack the tunnels back open, which luckily is just left of the route back with some health I could pick up too. I then triggered another of her mines near Pick's apartment, but luckily neither alerted any eternalists and I didn't run into Juliana so I just about got away.

Planning on doing the whole final loop like this, but I've got no idea yet how I'm going to manage midday considering the experiment control device is in the open surrounded by eternalists

I did a no kills no alert no power run of Dishonored (there is one point you have to use blink but that's it) and Deathloop definitely seems harder - I think because it's more designed for killing enemies without any repercussions. I also think it's less consistent - eternalist behaviour seems to vary a bit so despite doing almost exactly the same route sometimes I would get spotted, although I did work out some of the eternalist pathing is dependent on your own positioning (the eternalist outside of the warehouse leans on a different side of the barrier depending on your position relative to them!). I was getting frustrated that occassionally my bottle throwing would interrupt Harriet's speech too, and I don't know why!

Nice! I definitely want to go back and try out some more varied runs when I get a chance. There's a few side bits I've not fully bottomed out yet as well.

Apparently this had a sizeable patch the other day which has improved performance and tweaked some of the NPC AI so that's another incentive to give it some more time!

I dd finish the full loop! Midday was surprisingly easy, noon expectedly simple, and evening a good challenge where I never found a reliable wenji kill other than semi-alerting her and hoping to catch her alone.

Was a great challenge

Gamecollection had this down to £30 this weekend which I thought was a good jumping in price given its an actual next gen game and hasn't been out long.

Turned up this morning. I'm really looking forward to giving it a go.

Intriguing start but feeling a bit overwhelmed by it at the moment. Combat seems a bit easy. World design is nice but would appreciate a bit more of a direct path so I can get used to things.

Would anybody recommend and safe first approach so you can warm up to the game.

Choose a power and go after it. Once you have one then the game opens up and you can either keep powering it up or go for another.

I'd seek out invisibility and teleport first.

Also there is a silenced gun at the very start of the game. Get it and keep it. Game is much more fun with it.

I picked this up last weekend with black friday deals as well, spent a whole morning playing but kinda drifted off (which is how most of my gaming goes nowadays)

I was not really sure what Im doing most of the time but got the hang of it a bit.

Im not entirely sure if I have to eventually eliminate all targets in one day? ... I should give it a good run over the weekend again.

Have you followed the opening lead through? That's very directed in it being the only lead available at the start of the game. Once you finish that the other major leads all become available and if you want direction it should be as simple as picking one and following it.

When picking a location at each time of day it will tell you what leads are available to complete there so it is pretty easy to chop and change and always be completing something, but with the freedom to explore and try things your own way if you like.

I also started this a few days ago. Really liking it so far. Solved the Updaam safe puzzle. Love those sort of things that are scattered around the world.
I managed to pick up the Shift slab, but then fell off a cliff trying to use it, so don't have it anymore. After that I picked up Nexus then exited and infused straight away.
That's my only gripe with the game, not being able to infuse items during gameplay.

£17 on cdkeys so I’ve just taken the plunge. Downloading now and I’ll have a bash on this over the next few nights. Bit of a break from bf2042 until halo arrives.

I’ve also just got days gone for £15 too. One for another time.
