There's loads of cool bits to play about with off the main leads - I do wonder how much the average player bothered with though, in this day and age of gamers just following markers and doing what they're told

Especially worrying when saving Pick was my number one motivation for choosing the ending I did

I would put money on the fact that a depressingly small percentage of people who have completed the game even know who Pick is!

Took the classpass to Updaam... well that was a whole load of nothing :?

Looked in to the bunker locks and I currently only have one password. In the room near Cole's apartment and found a note I'd missed about the smoking game. I've switched up the order so I need to now go to that other place and see who it saved.

Found Pick. I've got 2 of the 3 codes for the smoking pact but I'm stumped as to where the 3rd code will come from. I've got the one from the table and the one from the woman in the restaurant you save. Switching to the bottom blue pipe didn't appear to do anything from what I could tell.

Did a load of side stuff today.

spy bunker finally solved after I realised I'd somehow missed hacking the radio for the doorbell locations and numbers :fp: Enjoyed that quest and I liked how it spanned multiple levels.

Also figured out the smoking game one finally.

Got the trinket off the cannon guy.

Only thing obvious that I haven't figured out is how that triangulation map and safe works in the little hidden cave in Updaam.

I’m some ways behind you but I have to take breaks if I die and have to repeat lots of stuff again…then again. I don’t want it to kill my enjoyment of the game because it is indeed pretty ace.

Just finished it. Fantastic game, early GOTY contender.

Regarding the cave.

There are numbers on the walls at the locations of the points of the triangles that you need. You then need to overlay numbers on the diagram.

The part which got me killed a couple of times yesterday was infiltrating the bunker of Fia, looking for artwork (?). Was doing really well, stealth-killed her, until I pulled the wrong one (you’ll know I mean) and…it didn’t end well.
Second time I pulled them all out right, but it alerted everybody :x Then an AI Julianna turned up and shot me…I was absolutely livid.

Hmm, I could hear a noise from that safe but was hoping for a rare weapon. Residium is next to useless later in the game.

I've only died twice properly in my play, once when putting on a classpass and the other when looking for Fia, getting spotted and her then blowing the island up.

Will save going for platinum and invading for another time. Brilliant game.

I think I’ve died about half a dozen times so far :fp: It punts you so far back, it’s really frustrating. Not being able to save mid-level is absolute BS as well, in this day and age.

I actually really liked the lack of saving once you were in a level (well apart from if it crashed) as it meant you and to live with whatever happend and be more careful. If I could just run in to a room and see what's there then reload if I died, it would have been crap.

I also quite liked the lack of saving. The maps aren’t massive and there are set areas you need to go to. So later on, you can ‘nip in’ and get straight to it, especially when you are powered up.

I think I only died twice, one common to a lot of people with fia. When I am killed once, I alter my play style to be a bit more safe, compared to complacent at the start.

Brilliantly done.

Imagine dying to Fia

And yeah the lack of saves is one of the key strengths as it removes scumming from the equation and forces you to engage with the consequences of your actions and mistakes. Once understood the levels and objectives are generally compact enough that dying doesn't have that high a price in terms of progress.

I was amazed at how quickly you could move through a level and leave when doing my final run. I'd spend hours in a level in the early game, yet when you know it very well and where to go for your objective, you can be out of the level in 5 minutes :datass:

Well, I mean, I didn’t die to her personally! I hadn’t seen a single Julianna since it’s tutorial but she rocked up and shot me in the back.
I wouldn’t say removing a really handy feature is a ‘key strength’, it’s infuriating when you die, but yes I can understand why they did it.
