I mean died as in fail-the-loop die anyway because you're out of retries, I have definitely accidentally drowned myself a few times

Crapped myself when I turned that corner. PS5 didn't like it much either

I can also confirm that if you turn off the online PvP, you can get invaded by an AI Julianna at any point of the level. And she's far less fun than fighting an actual human. The AI Julianna spams the damage/defense buff and relentlessly chases you down like the strawberry floating terminator.

I'll be switching the PvP back on now as that's preferable to the AI.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm just bad at the game but I'm really struggling to figure out how to kill all 8 visionaries in one loop. Managed a couple of double kills here and there but I feel a long way off from winning.

Multikill! Nice one!

Follows the leads if you want more guidance on how to take them all down.

For some reason, I can’t quite get into it. So have deleted it and wait for the right time and mood to play it.

Her slabs are randomised, but yeah Havoc is the hardest to deal with! I've resorted to melee a couple of times when she is havoc'd. I think the AI is pretty good in general (which shows the bad eternalist AI is definitely a deliberate design decision)

My first time going up against Egor and some arsehole of an invader kills him and everyone around him, completely ruining the level for me.

When it works the invader system is great but twats like that ruin it. I wish there were some simple customisation options for the PvP stuff like "invaders are unable damage NPCs".

Do the visionary leads. The game walks you through the solution.

The spy storyline was great (ringing the doorbells was genius) but I think a little too eager to just give you a bunch of solutions to other puzzles/secrets in the game in case you'd missed them.

What is the spy storyline as I'm not sure if I've missed something there? I've been in the room in Fristad which has a doorbell, but only have one of the three codes to unlock the door and not sure where to go for the others. Any not too spoilery hints you can give me?

You're definitely in the right starting place!

Progressive hints, none of them too spoilery:

Hint 1: So in that room in Fristad, there is something that mentions a mysterious radio broadcast at a certain time of day
Hint 2: There is a hackable distraction in that room... what is it? You've probably seen plenty of them around!
Hint 3: You'll probably need a notepad irl!
Hint 4: Examine the whiteboard in that room closely - there's a crucial clue on it!
Hint 5: Make sure you've picked up maps of each area...

Thanks for the hints, I've completed this sidequest now, was very cool!

I completed the game last night, have really enjoyed my time with it although I thought the ending was slightly abrupt. If anyone is playing online feel free to add me on PSN (same as my username) as I'm still playing as Julianna.

Just finished it myself!

Chose to break the loop... wanting to keep my promise to Pick to get her home is what swung it for me!

Just tried some Juliana invading, the matchmaking just takes too long. First invasion the guy disconnected, second I got three kills and won. With the matchmaking as it is I don't think I'll play any more of it unfortunately.

Played for 31 hours according to the PS5. Have a few things I know I haven't finished but think I've seen most of it. Am going to try a full loop of no alerts visionary kills only I think!

Yeah the matchmaking is a pain, I'm guessing it won't get any better either unless the game ends up on PS+ or something one day, or there's crossplay when it comes out for Xbox.

It's a shame as I think the PvP is really good.

I had issues with matchmaking in the first couple of days but since then it's been okay for me - I've never been waiting too long.

It would still be nice if they gave you something to do whilst you waited though, maybe just have a little area that Juliana can run around practicing in or something

It could really do with something like this. The mode starts with that brief interlude in Juliana's room, an obstacle course and shooting range there where you can set records would be a decent distraction.

How long is too long to wait I guess will vary from person to person, but for me waiting ~5 minutes to get one match in a 1v1 game where you can lose from a single death (that you might not even seen coming) is not a good deal.

It might be more motivating if they surfaced the number of people queuing as Juliana vs the number of people playing online as Colt, or even just gave some indication of average wait time at the current moment.

Yeah if nothing else greater feedback on the competition for getting into a game would be helpful.

My wait times have been pretty good in all honesty - other than when I first tried it just after launch I've been getting into a game within in a average of about 1 minute. I've started just hitting the "Invade a Random Player" button straight away and then using the wait time to tweak my loadout or look at the hunter ranking stuff.

Got the credits on this now. What a game! :datass:

The narrative never quite comes together in as compelling a way as I'd have liked, and the aforementioned quibbles about how keen it is to solve things for you remain, but other than that it's simply an astonishing creation, an utter joy to play from start to finish. Arkane.

I loved the few nods to the fact it might be connected to the Dishonored universe as well, even if they are just Easter eggs: the ending pistols being clearly a reference to the dueling pistols from Lady Boyle's Manor in Dishonored plus the fact you can find a recording of the Drunken Whaler song being picked up as a broadcast on the island

Just finished it. Amazing game but the story was very disappointing. So many questions and barely any answers.

I thought I'd want to keep playing more and more but I think I've had my fill for now.

Overall I loved it.

I've seen this sentiment quite a lot, but I came away pretty satisfied. There is one huge unresolved mystery, in the nature and origin of the anomaly itself, but I'd argue that's more of the setting than a plot point needing resolution (we know enough of its effects for the sequence of events that play out to make sense and for the motivation of the various factions investigating the anomaly to make sense). Other than that (admittedly central) mystery, I think most other things got resolved or can be reasonably speculated on. What do you think goes unresolved?

Finding out that the outside world is suffering from a deadly pandemic (that Aeon was proposing the loop as an escape from) also felt Dishonored-like

Managed to get the Platinum for this last night. I found the hardest trophy was the one for killing 3 Visionaries at the party without being seen - because the first few times I tried it, without fail, Julianna turned up and raised merry hell whilst I was trying to be sneaky. Shotguns and explosions going off all over the place and half a dozen red alerts in seconds.

On the plus side, I got really familiar with Updaam.

Great, great game. Time for a rest from it now though. I've looped my last for a while.

Still very slowly making my way through this - just loading it up and playing one timeslot every now and then. Started to collect the slabs. The first one I tried to get was the invisibility one, but I think the guy fell off a cliff (or possibly glitched through the floor) and I didn't get anything. :x Since then I got the linking people one and the teleport one, and then Julianna showed up with the invisibility one I wanted anyway, so that was cool.

I like the powers so far and I'm interested to see how they upgrade.

Trying to sneak as much as I can so I'm mostly using the nail gun, with an accuracy upgrade for those sweet pixel-perfect headshots. I found the silenced submachine gun but I'm rarely switching to it - when I have to switch it's usually because I messed up and need a heavier option. I think the three to keep with me might be nail gun / some kind of shotgun or heavy machine gun / sniper rifle.

Seeing people chat about the game I think I've been spoiled on two of the major reveals
Julianna is Colt's daughter; you might choose to stay in the loop to avoid a pandemic outside
so I'm going to be a bit more careful and cross my fingers there's at least one more interesting plot point that might surprise me...  Still, like any immersive sim I'm mostly in it for the stealth combat and puzzling so it's no big deal.

To be fair it's possible to get both of those spoilers relatively early in the game depending on the order you tackle things, so while they are pretty major (well, the first one especially) you don't need to feel too put out I guess?

I fell into nail gun/shotgun/sniper rifle very quickly and only changed that up when I had to switch in a weapon I wanted to save into my permanent collection.
