Wow, that looks so unutterably gooseberry fool.

It's still basically impossible to tell what the game will actually be like at this point so it may still suprise me, but the more they've shown over the years the less interested I've become in spades.

It's very self indulgent, but this is Kojima. It'll no doubt end up being a fantastic game held back by ponderously long cutscenes and a nigh nonsensical story but it'll be a hell of a ride.

I trust Kojima to deliver an experience we won't forget. Been on board since the reveal and it just keeps looking better.

I think that's the bit that worries me, I love me some nonsensical Kojima madness - but usually that is tied to some great game mechanics and the odd dusting of genuine genius as well. For Stranding the few hints at actually gameplay have looked ropey as anything so far, some of the animation is atrocious as well which is something if never thought I'd say about one of his games.

I remain intruiged, and I hope it turns out to be incredible, but like I say the more they show the more concerned I'm growing!

The collector's edition is already out of stock on Game website. :o

At least that saves me some dosh. Might pick up the steel book edition. Of course, I still have that nagging feeling that I probably would end up hating the game.

I wouldn't watch any more trailers (like they give away anything really!) It's probably the last big title for the PS4 this year, giving that the rumours that Last of Us 2 wouldn't be out until next year. Unless Sony dropped a big bombshell and tell us that it's coming out this year, along with Sucker Punch's samurai game.

This might qualify as minor spoilers but the description of the game on the PlayStation site gives some more details as to what it actually is (including what BTs stands for)

The death mechanic and asynchronous online sounds great.

The death mechanic and asynchronous online sounds great.

Those descriptions do make it sound more interesting than what has been shown, although it's still very high level stuff - if the moment to moment gameplay doesn't hang together then having lots of interesting concepts sat above that won't really matter!

From those descriptions and the trailer I'm thinking it's essentially The Phantom Pain with some new mechanics bolted on. I imagine you'll be taking missions that require long wanders across landscapes, avoiding or killing soldiers/bandits with some story missions sprinkled in that involve huge cutscenes and setpieces (like the WWI bit)

I just watched the trailer... great stuff, I like the oddness and the uncertainty. I'm looking forward to this; it's unusual and I am gonna be very wary of reading previews.

I didn't really make the link regarding the Beached Things until I read this comment chain on reddit:

https://old.reddit.com/r/PS4/comments/b ... r/epcg54u/

And quoted here in the event that you don't want to go to reddit..
Ohhhh, Beached Things - BT's.

I think they're people who died but never fully "crossed over" to the afterlife so they're "beached" on the shores between life and death.

They are... Stranded? :)

Eeeeeyyyyy!!
