Do people not know that the title is a reference to the cetacean stranding phenomenon then? That's what most of the terminology is linking to.

Yeah, Kojima mentioned it an earlier interview. Really cool concept I thought.

During a twitch stream he said the following regarding Death Stranding exclusivity:

"..The PS4 cover didn't have the "Only on PS" label because DS it's coming to PC at a later date, that's the deal signed between Kojima and Sony, the game will be a timed PS4 exclusive and will be available on PC later on (won't be available on Xbox), i don't know if it's a 6 or 12 months exclusive"

Not a surprise as been rumoured for some time.

In one way I'm very happy that it's coming to PC, but in another I'm sad as I keep losing reasons to finally pick up a PS4!

We're back to the "See that mountain you can climb it" rhetoric from the Halo 3 reveal. Hopefully folks will stop using size as a metric of quality at some point as it's bollocks.

Being able to climb everything is so 2017.

I enjoyed the trailer, the story and characters look really intriguing and interesting. But the gameplay bits looked very dull and the world pretty empty and mundane. They might be holding a lot back though and I'm sure a lot of the enjoyment in this will come from the atmosphere and tension which is hard to demonstrate in a trailer.

New gameplay as shown tonight at the Gamescom show.

Terrifically odd and enticing!

As I said in the Gamescom thread, this looked utter bollocks during this showing. The little gameplay we saw was a dude walking and pissing (because pissing is funny I guess lol) and the insipid Keighley-Kojima meme making it in-game.

With Kojima it’s difficult to know what’s a troll, what’s holding cards close to the chest and what’s just strawberry floating wank.

That gameplay demo was rubbish. And they spent a long time talking about not seeing Norman Reedus’ dick and shaking a dual shock like it was innovative gameplay.

Based on how quickly this has been turned around and what we’ve seen of what you’ll actually be doing in game I think calling the reception this game is going to get, divisive, is going to be generous.

In the Gamescom thread I wrote:I feel that it's exciting to see a big budget title as potentially off-the-wall as this. It definitely looks unusual and, for me, the atmosphere will be as big a part of the experience as the gameplay. We've seen a tiny portion of the game; I feel it's a little sharp to dismiss it but, hey, perspectives vary.

Yeah for me this has always been sitting in the Bad Kojima bucket based on what has been said/shown to date and nothing has changed today.

Still so hard to really judge until actually playing it but I'm certainly in no rush to put my money down.
