Am I imagining things or was someone in here asking about preorders? The posts have vanished. Saw on Twitter that Simply Games and The Game Collection aren't dispatching until tomorrow.

Is that the one that comes with the wee baby? I'm just getting the normal one, I think it comes with some free DLC items.

Fixed.

I did finished it. But my good god the amount of cutscenes in this is insane m, and very lengthy.

I haven’t gone back playing it once I’ve finished says something.

Also it is reported that the Death Stranding platinum will take you 100-200 hours. :slol:

Anyway I think I’ll just hold off getting this until it’s going on sale, digitally. I don’t think I’ll be happy to drop £55 on a game I may end up hating or give up halfway through (like I did for MGSV.)

I really liked MGS4 at the time, but as you say, I've never gone back after the first playthrough.

I would, but I can't be arsed setting up my PS3 just for that.

It's much easier since you can install the whole game at once rather than separate installs per chapter

Gotta love old snake smoking though

Also the camo suit used in MGS4 has never been beaten.

4 was a weird game but still amazing in parts. Mooing walkers, an actual mech v mech fight, more guns than a gun shop, raiden being epic, vamp and more.

More than 70 Guerrilla Games devs worked on this - https://www.videogameschronicle.com/new ... stranding/

Also Insomniac & Bend are listed as support partners.

Camo suit was v.cool but I still prefer the switchable camos of MGS3. Especially the half US flag half Soviet flag one

Listening to the Bombcast this week had me in stitches when Brad compared this to Kojima's Phantom Menace.

I haven't really been following this game that closely as I didn't really like the look of it whenever I've seen it previously, but hearing that there's no pay-off for all the slog that you have to do makes me think I'll probably never play it.

It's interesting seeing all of the reactions to some of the reviews, though.

They gave it a 2/5 by the way in case anyone is interested in reading it. https://www.giantbomb.com/reviews/death ... /1900-795/

4 had really cool moments, but it needed some tweaks to actually be great. Biggest offender being the B&Bs and how we learn nothing about them until after they stop being relevant. But didn't you feel bad about killing them?

Also not that big a fan of the retcons. Like how Vamp was all nanomachines, Ocelot was done through self hypnosis, etc, despite there being undeniable ghost stuff happening elsewhere anyway.

Remember that nanomachines let you walk on water and pin shadows to the ground.

Map design could do with a bit of work, too.

It's not a bad game, but not great, especially as the 4th MGS.

I'm really intrigued by this one. I like the sound of just plodding along across huge open landscapes, carefully managing inventory, but there has to be some sort of payoff, or something that makes it kinda cool and memorable.
I mean i love walking simulators, but that's because of the carefully sequenced story that unfolds, seemingly out of nowhere. If this is just toil with little feedback, its a problem.

I'm intrigued too! Normally one read's a review and is able to interpret whether you will like it or not but the reviews are so varied. Is it a triple-A quality walking sim with Kojima level production - with some reviewers hating it because it's not the action game they wanted it to be? Or is it a boring, meandering game filled with walking - and the people who love it don't realise this is a case of the emperor's new clothes?

I had very low interest but the Digital Foundry tech analysis showed me how beautiful the game is and I'm eager to experience it for myself, not sure I will pay full whack...

I think this might go down as one of the most bat gooseberry fool crazy special editions ever in the history of gaming!

Just started..... Won't get a chance to play it much until tomorrow afternoon but thought I'd grab a quick go before work.

It's so pretty. Up there with Red Dead 2 and Horizon.
