The collectors edition..... Or as it shall be know., My first and last collectors edition.

Game comes in a tin, very nice art. There is a roll of yellow tape, a tiny figure of the Kojima studio. When I say tiny I mean it's about the size of a 50p piece, there is the box it all comes in which looks like of of Sam's brief cases and then there is BB. BB is cool and the reason I bought this editon. But he is loose in his plastic jar thing and luckily I managed to wobble him into place, however if he had got turned around (like I've seen happen online to some people's editions) he'd be trapped like that forever as the jar thing can't be opened.

Next time I'll just spend the money on a third party epic statue or something, as for the price it's not worth it.

Anyway, back to the game. Currently trying to rush through chapter 2 as I've seen multiple reviewers say it's better to leave that optional stuff and get to chapter 3 where more options become available.

I'm currently on the order where you first have to deliver supplies to Port Knot City. How far am I from Chapter 3?

So what’s the moment to moment gameplay like, are you just wandering around the overworld going from point to point or is there value from exploring the environment and is it interesting to explore.

I'm still early in on the game but yes you generally are going point to point. I haven't really explored yet because you're always carrying cargo which slows you down, and you run the risk of running into BTs which can be a pain so it doesn't seem worth it at this point. Although I've read it opens up a little after chapter 2 where you unlock more abilities and gear.

It's definitely not a game for everyone, but I'm enjoying it so far. The production values and art direction etc. is fantastic though, it has quite a unique atmosphere.

I took on too much cargo, by founding them at the top of a cliff of all places. I turned. And lost my balance then fell off the cliff. :slol:

Love how you find other players' placements of ladders and climbing ropes. A couple helped me to sneak into the mule camp unnoticed and steal back some cargo they stole.

Shipping items from one area to another is the core gameplay. But it's not like say delivering 3 items for a quest in Skyrim or an another game. The items impact gameplay. They change the weight and speed of Sam also how much more things he can take with him.

So if you choose to take loads of deliveries then you can only take 1 ladder or 1 rope. Maybe no defense stuff.

The A to B gameplay isn't a straight line or a simple walk. As even a little river means a choice of looking for a safer place to cross, using an item or hoping someone else has left something.

The social aspect is the best non multi player online since the Souls games. It's brilliant to see a bridge someone has made or a rope left.

The early parts of the game are meant to show people how bad the world would be without the connection to others and how hard it is to shift things without technology. So more of the gameworld comes online and more tech is unlocked the game becomes easier and more enjoyable.

Chapter 3 is like a different game. Loads of options and upgrades. Still plenty of scope to be screwed over when I realise I'm a million miles away from where I need to be and it's raining and the weapons are on my trolley that I left on a hill I fell off.

Now I've got the bolla gun which makes humans easy to take out. Also helped finish off some roads and upgraded a few things for other people.

i've put in about 6 hours so far and really enjoying it going from point to point as you figure out how to dodge timefall, BTs and Mules while making sure you dont fall over and break your crates. also the sheer ludicrous nature of your canteen converting water into Monster Energy is the most shameless Advertising in a Kojima game.
